Trinidad and Tobago's Top 3: Valiant Takes the Lead, While 45 Votes Decide Second

By Sasha Volkov·July 25, 2026

Three DJs, three genre families, one podium. That is the short version of the Top 3 in Trinidad and Tobago (TT), and it is the most interesting thing about this ranking. There is no single dominant sound carrying the country's fan vote — the top of the table reads Hard Dance, House, and Dance / Pop, in that order.

Valiant sits at #1 with 1,875 votes, a lead of 521 over second place. That is not a photo finish, and it should not be read as one. In a fan-voted ranking, a margin that size usually means an artist has a base that turns out, not just an audience that listens. Valiant's credit score of 476 is the highest of the three, so the editorial and voting signals point the same direction here — which is not always the case.

The Hard Dance label is worth pausing on. Hard Dance is rarely the default commercial setting for a national scene, and seeing it at #1 suggests a committed, mobilised core rather than a passive one. Valiant also carries 40,456 Last.fm listeners, the largest listener figure on this podium, alongside 1,020 YouTube subscribers and 166 SoundCloud followers.

The real contest is below the top line. J Prince takes #2 on 1,354 votes; Armanii takes #3 on 1,309. That is a gap of 45 votes — genuinely tight, and the kind of margin that could invert in a single voting cycle. Their credit scores tell a similar story of proximity: 468 and 446 respectively. Across the entire podium, first to third spans only 30 credit points.

J Prince's entry is the House representation, and his profile is weighted toward Instagram, where he holds 1,624 followers, with 9 followers on Mixcloud and 875 Last.fm listeners. Armanii, ranked under Dance / Pop, posts the highest Instagram figure of the three at 1,958, and 18,230 Last.fm listeners.

A word of caution on the platform numbers, because they matter to how you read this table. Several of the counts recorded here are implausibly small — single-digit and low double-digit follower figures appear across more than one profile. Those are almost certainly collection artifacts: an unlinked handle, a renamed account, a scrape that missed. They are not evidence that an artist has no audience on that platform, and no conclusion in this article rests on them. Where a stat is absent entirely, that absence is also not a finding.

What the reliable signals show is a scene without a monoculture. Compare this to markets where one genre family sweeps every podium position; TT's top three splits cleanly across hard, house, and commercial. For a country of its size, that spread implies multiple functioning circuits — different rooms, different promoters, different crowds — rather than one scene with one door policy.

It also means the ranking is unstable in a productive way. Valiant's lead is comfortable for now, but the credit scores are bunched, and the #2/#3 fight is decided by a number small enough to be noise. A strong season from J Prince or Armanii does not need to be transformative to change the order — it needs to be marginally better than the other's.

Watch the 45. That is the number that will move first.
