Trance on Top, Electronica Everywhere Else: Inside the Dominican Republic's DJ Radar Eight
By Devon Pierce·August 3, 2026

The Dominican Republic currently fields eight DJs on the DJ Radar board. That number is small enough to read end to end in a minute, and the shape of the list says something specific: one artist has separated, and everyone else is packed into a corridor barely 150 points wide.
DJ Eric sets the ceiling
At the top is DJ Eric, the board's only Trance entry, with a credit score of 686 and 5,219 votes — more than three times the vote total of any other Dominican act on the list. His streaming footprint backs the placement rather than contradicting it: 62,483 monthly Spotify listeners, 46,797 Spotify followers, and 4,837 Last.fm listeners.
The gap matters. DJ Eric sits 179 points clear of second place, which is not a photo finish by any reading. Whatever the rest of this board is fighting over, it is not the top spot.
The Electronica bloc
Below him, the country's profile narrows fast. Five of the eight ranked DJs — Emi, Sandy MC, Afrodita, eMeTeDe and José Ernesto Chapuseaux — all list Electronica as their main genre. That is not a scene splintered across a dozen micro-styles; it is a scene with a dominant lane and a few outliers working the edges.
Emi leads that bloc at 507 with 1,561 votes and 13,551 Instagram followers. Sandy MC follows at 479 and 1,413 votes, then Afrodita at 453 with 1,363 votes, 1,009 Instagram followers and 13,419 Last.fm listeners. Twenty-eight points separate second from third, twenty-six separate third from fourth. These are placements that could reorder inside a single strong release cycle.
José Ernesto Chapuseaux closes the board at 353 with 560 votes — the shortest ledger here, and the clearest reminder that the bottom of a national top eight is still a national top eight.
The outliers are the interesting part
Bryan Brack is the only Techno artist ranked, sitting fifth at 430. His vote count is the quiet anomaly: 1,510 votes, more than both Sandy MC and Afrodita above him. Credit score is clearly weighing something beyond raw ballots. He also carries 5,869 Instagram followers, 49 Resident Advisor followers, and one festival appearance on record — the only festival credit anywhere on this list.
CANOTO holds sixth at 402, the board's sole bass-family entry with a Dubstep tag and 1,227 votes. The margin to seventh is where this ranking actually gets tight: eMeTeDe sits at 398, exactly four points back on 1,206 votes. Two artists, two entirely different genre families, functionally tied.
What to watch
Read the board as a map rather than a leaderboard and the local flavour comes through. Trance owns the ceiling. Electronica owns the volume. Techno and Dubstep each have exactly one credible flag-planter, and both are close enough to the artists around them that a single good year reshuffles the middle.
The question for the next cycle is not whether anyone catches DJ Eric — 179 points is a real distance. It is whether the Electronica majority holds its share of the board, or whether Bryan Brack's festival credit and CANOTO's genre isolation turn into the kind of separation that moves ranks. Four points is nothing. Neither is one festival, until it becomes two.
