Top 10 DJs Worldwide: Trance Holds the Crown as the Fan Vote Splits Into Three Tiers
By Sasha Volkov·October 18, 2026
The fan vote behind DJ Radar's Top 10 DJs Worldwide produced a podium settled by a few hundred ballots and a table that breaks cleanly into three tiers. Here is how the ranking fell into place, and what it says about where the dancefloor sits right now.
A trance podium, decided by inches
Armin van Buuren takes the number one spot with 86,057 votes and a credit score of 995. The Dutch trance mainstay posts big but evenly spread platform numbers: 15,167,072 Spotify monthly listeners, 6,200,000 YouTube subscribers, 5,030,332 Instagram followers and 1,187,795 on SoundCloud. Nothing in his profile spikes. Everything is simply large, and the vote reflects that breadth.
David Guetta lands second on 85,688 votes, just 369 behind, and matches van Buuren's 995 credit score. The French dance-pop giant is the streaming heavyweight of this list by a wide margin, with 82,926,860 Spotify monthly listeners, 28,648,823 Spotify followers and 27,900,000 YouTube subscribers. That reach did not translate into a vote lead, which is the clearest lesson in the whole table: fans vote for the DJ, not the stream count.
Charlotte de Witte completes the top three with 85,330 votes and a credit score of 992. The Belgian techno headliner sits 358 behind Guetta and 727 behind the leader. Her strength shows on socials, with 6,394,808 Instagram followers and 1,800,000 on TikTok, alongside 202 festival appearances logged in our data. She is also the only woman in the top ten.
Three genres, three countries, 727 votes between them. That is as close as a global podium gets.
The gap, then the Dutch-American middle
The drop from third to fourth is the defining feature of this ranking. Tiësto arrives at number four with 53,203 votes, more than 32,000 shy of de Witte. The Dutch trance icon's numbers remain enormous, with 33,463,685 Spotify monthly listeners, 8,521,527 Spotify followers and 7,855,501 on Instagram, but the voting public drew a hard line beneath the podium.
What follows is a second sprint almost as tight as the first. Martin Garrix takes fifth on 53,013 votes, only 190 behind Tiësto, with a 987 credit score and a notably balanced footprint: 15,319,676 Instagram followers, 15,200,000 YouTube subscribers and 15,400,538 Spotify followers. Anyma rounds out the tier in sixth with 52,796 votes and a 982 credit score, 217 behind Garrix. The American melodic house and techno artist brings 6,927,206 Spotify monthly listeners and 2,500,000 TikTok followers.
Fourth to sixth spans just 407 votes. Three Dutch DJs now occupy the top five, the strongest single-country showing in the list.
The underground tier
Another steep drop separates sixth from seventh, and the final four cluster within 1,077 votes of one another.
John Summit opens the group with 33,600 votes and a 979 credit score. His 11,868,766 Spotify monthly listeners and 59,792 Resident Advisor followers reflect a melodic house and techno sound with both streaming and club-circuit pull. Carl Cox follows on 32,756 votes. The British techno figure holds the largest Mixcloud following in the top ten at 259,283, along with 574,197 SoundCloud followers and 2,791,572 on Instagram.
Fred again.. sits ninth with 32,662 votes and a 975 credit score. The British house producer pairs 28,173,892 Spotify monthly listeners with the highest Resident Advisor following on the list at 162,106, a rare combination of mainstream streaming scale and underground credibility. Black Coffee closes the ten on 32,523 votes with a 966 credit score. The South African Afro house standard-bearer logs 371 festival appearances in our data, the most of any artist for whom we hold that figure, plus 5,073,043 Instagram followers.
What the table tells us
Credit scores track the vote order exactly, from 995 at the top to 966 at the bottom, so the two measures agree on who matters. Genre-wise, the top ten splits almost evenly: two trance, two techno, two melodic house and techno, two commercial, plus one house and one Afro house. The Netherlands leads with three artists, the United States and United Kingdom place two each, and France, Belgium and South Africa hold one apiece.
The story is not a single dominant act. It is a three-way podium fight, a Dutch-led middle, and an underground quartet that fans refused to separate.
