Top 10 DJs Worldwide: Just 270 Votes Separate the Entire Field
By Mara Quinn·July 9, 2026
Fan votes rarely produce a photo finish, but this year's Top 10 Worldwide is exactly that. Only 270 votes separate first from tenth, and every rung of the ladder is spaced a near-mechanical 30 votes apart. This isn't a runaway — it's ten heavyweights standing shoulder to shoulder, and a single voting bloc could have reshuffled the whole board.
David Guetta takes the top spot with 11,970 votes. The French dance-pop mainstay carries a credit score of 928 and one of the deepest streaming footprints in the field, from 87.7M Spotify monthly listeners to 28.2M followers. But the vote gap tells its own story: Armin van Buuren sits second on 11,940 — a mere 30 votes back — and actually posts the highest credit score of anyone here at 938. Fans, it seems, reward reach as much as résumé.
The Netherlands owns this leaderboard. Behind Armin's trance legacy come Martin Garrix at #3 (11,910 votes) and Tiësto at #4 (11,880), giving Dutch artists three of the top four slots and two distinct lineages — Garrix's arena-sized dance-pop and Tiësto's trance-rooted evolution. It's a reminder that the country's export machine still sets the global tempo.
Then the genre map cracks wide open. Charlotte de Witte lands at #5 on 11,850 votes, the only DJ listed here as female and the highest-ranked techno artist on the board. Her profile leans on the road rather than the algorithm — a festival count of 202 anchors a career built in front of crowds, and a 5.5M Instagram following shows the crossover pull techno now commands.
Calvin Harris holds #6 (11,820), the UK's contribution to the commercial contingent, backed by 80.8M Spotify monthly listeners. At #7, Brazil's Alok (11,790) brings the loudest social signal in the ten: 28.9M Instagram followers and 15.1M on TikTok, the largest such footprint on the list — proof that the commercial sound's center of gravity is no longer purely European.
The back half belongs to the specialists. Carl Cox sits at #8 (11,760), the UK techno institution whose 259,283 Mixcloud followers speak to a mix-culture loyalty few can match, paired with a credit score of 912 that outranks several DJs above him. Fisher takes #9 (11,730), Australia's tech-house export and the lone house entry, riding roughly 20M Spotify monthly listeners into the global conversation.
Closing the countdown is Black Coffee at #10 with 11,700 votes, South Africa's Afro house standard-bearer and the only artist here to break through from that genre family. His 371 festival appearances are the highest festival count on the list — a workhorse's number that underlines how far Afro house has traveled from the margins to the main stage.
So what does this ranking actually say? Two things. First, geography has genuinely diversified: France, the Netherlands, Belgium, the UK, Brazil, Australia and South Africa all place, and no single genre family dominates. Trance, commercial dance-pop, techno, tech house and Afro house each get their moment. Second, the fan vote and the credit score don't always agree — Armin, Carl Cox and others out-score peers ranked above them — which is precisely what makes a vote-driven countdown worth reading. The margins are thin, the styles are broad, and next cycle, 30 votes could flip the whole thing.
