Top 10 DJs Worldwide: 30 Votes Separate Every Rung on the Ladder

By Mara Quinn·July 10, 2026

Fan votes rarely line up this neatly. In DJ Radar's global Top 10, the gap between every neighboring rank is identical: 30 votes. David Guetta takes #1 with 11,970 votes, and the trail runs in perfectly even steps down to Black Coffee at #10 on 11,700. That's a spread of just 270 votes across the entire list — close enough that a single busy festival weekend could reshuffle the whole thing.

Remember what this ranking measures: fans, not formulas. Our credit-score model actually rates Armin van Buuren (938) above Guetta (928), yet the France-born Dance/Pop titan edges ahead on raw votes by that same 30-vote hair. It's a useful reminder that popularity and technical pedigree don't always agree, and here the crowd broke for the biggest-tent name in the room.

The Dutch bloc holds the middle. Three of the top four — Armin van Buuren at #2, Martin Garrix at #3, Tiësto at #4 — come from the Netherlands, spanning trance and Dance/Pop. It's a stark illustration of how deeply one country's scene is threaded through the modern DJ mainstream. Garrix and Tiësto trade the commercial and trance banners while Armin keeps the trance flag flying at the sharp end of the table.

Commercial dance still rules the vote. Four of the ten — Guetta, Garrix, Calvin Harris (#6, United Kingdom), and Alok (#7, Brazil) — sit in the Dance/Pop family. These are the artists whose reach spills furthest beyond club walls, and the vote reflects it. Alok carries an especially broad social footprint, with 28,890,588 Instagram followers and 15,100,000 on TikTok, a profile built as much on platform presence as on the dancefloor.

But the countdown is far from a pop monoculture. Techno gets two seats, and they couldn't be more differently drawn. Charlotte de Witte lands at #5 — the highest-placed woman on the list, from Belgium — carrying a festival count of 202 and a live-driven reputation that leans on stages more than streaming metrics. Carl Cox, the United Kingdom techno institution, sits at #8, his Mixcloud following (259,283) hinting at the mix-culture roots that predate the streaming era.

The bottom third of the table is where the genre map opens widest. Fisher (#9, Australia) flies the Tech House banner with a reported 20,000,000 Spotify monthly listeners; his profile on our other platforms is thin, so we'll let the music do the arguing. Black Coffee closes the countdown at #10, and it's a placing that undersells the scope of the work behind it: the South African Afro House pioneer logs a festival count of 371 — the highest touring figure on this entire list — proving how much of his standing is earned on the road rather than the algorithm.

So what does the shape of this Top 10 tell us? That the global vote still rewards crossover scale, that the Netherlands remains a production powerhouse, and that techno, tech house, and Afro house all have the constituency to crash the party. Most of all, it tells us the race is genuinely live. When 30 votes is the difference between every rung — and 270 covers the whole ladder from Guetta to Black Coffee — nobody here is safe, and nobody here is far off the top.
