Top 10 DJs Worldwide 2026: Just 30 Points Separate No. 1 From No. 10
By Imani Brooks·July 19, 2026
The margins that decide it
There's a version of this list where the order feels obvious, and then there's the math. From Armin van Buuren at the top with a credit score of 938 down to Martin Garrix at 908, the entire Top 10 is separated by just 30 points. That compression is the real story: this isn't a runaway, it's a photo finish stretched across ten names.
Armin van Buuren holds No. 1 on 938, the only score in the group north of 930 and a ten-point cushion over the field. The Dutch trance figurehead also draws one of the deepest vote tallies here, 11,940, and it's fitting that trance sets the tone at the summit — van Buuren isn't the only one flying that flag in the upper reaches.
David Guetta lands second on 928, and by streaming footprint he operates on another scale: 87,684,123 monthly Spotify listeners and 28,205,283 followers, the largest raw audience anywhere on this list. France's most exportable dance-pop name turns those numbers into the widest commercial reach of the ten, even if the credit score keeps him a step behind.
Skrillex takes third on 923, the lone bass artist in the Top 10 and proof that dubstep's crossover era still carries weight. Tiësto follows at 921, giving the Netherlands two names in the top four and trance a second seat at the table.
Then the list knots up. Paul van Dyk, Carl Cox and John Summit are tied on 912 — a genuine three-way deadlock spanning trance, techno and melodic house & techno without a single point between them. Germany's van Dyk brings a festival count of 252 to the argument; the UK's Carl Cox carries the techno banner; and John Summit represents the newer American melodic wave. Same score, three completely different routes to it.
The tail is tighter still. James Hype (910), Boris Brejcha (909) and Garrix (908) close the countdown inside two points of one another. Hype's tech house and Brejcha's melodic house & techno sit either side of Garrix's big-room pedigree, and Garrix — despite one of the biggest social footprints on the page, 15,285,060 Spotify followers and 15,202,056 on Instagram — still lands at No. 10. It's the clearest signal of how this ranking works: audience size and credit score are not the same currency.
Zoom out and the genre map is telling. Trance claims three of the ten (van Buuren, Tiësto, van Dyk), the commercial family two (Guetta, Garrix), and melodic house & techno two (Summit, Brejcha), with bass, techno and house each holding a single chair. Geographically the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Germany and the United States each place multiple or marquee names, while France sits high through Guetta alone.
What makes the 2026 picture compelling is exactly that 30-point compression. With three artists deadlocked at 912 and another three within a whisker at the bottom, small movements in votes or momentum could reshuffle half this list. The order below is settled for now — but not by much.
