Top 10 DJs in North Macedonia: Fan Votes Crown Billy Esteban — but Psytrance Owns the List

North Macedonia is a small market with a very particular sound, and this fan-voted Top 10 makes that plain. Six of the ten names on the list are psytrance acts. And yet the crown goes elsewhere: to Billy Esteban, a deep house artist who edged out the field with 5,669 votes.

It was not a runaway. Atriohm, the psytrance project sitting at #2, pulled 5,414 votes — a gap of just 255 — and the two are locked at an identical credit score of 712. On the voting form, this was effectively a coin flip between two very different visions of Macedonian electronic music. Esteban's case rests on reach: 145,466 monthly listeners on Spotify, comfortably the biggest streaming footprint in this Top 10. Atriohm's case is community: 28,438 SoundCloud followers and 25,257 on Instagram, the profile of an act whose audience shows up rather than just streams.

Third place goes to Kala, the tech house entry, on 4,515 votes and a 646 credit score. The numbers sketch a working DJ rather than a streaming phenomenon: 12 festival appearances, 31,488 SoundCloud followers and 30,248 Last.fm listeners. In a list dominated by psytrance producers, Kala holding the last podium spot is a quiet win for the house contingent.

From #4 down, the trance bloc takes over. Cosmic Dimension lands at #4 with 3,929 votes — a striking result given comparatively lean platform numbers, and a reminder that fan polls reward loyalty, not follower counts. Tengri follows at #5 with 2,572 votes, backed by 164,000 YouTube subscribers and a healthy 14,846 on SoundCloud.

Marga Sol breaks the sequence at #6. Her house catalogue has clearly travelled: 48,815 Last.fm listeners is the highest Last.fm figure anywhere in this ranking, ahead of even the top three, alongside 34,300 YouTube subscribers. On 2,225 votes she sits mid-table here, but on listening data she is one of the most established names in the country. Galoski, at #7 with 2,047 votes, is the third house act on the list, and his 25,145 Instagram followers make him one of the most-followed artists in this Top 10 on that platform.

The final three places belong, fittingly, to psytrance. Demoniac Insomniac takes #8 with 1,944 votes and near-symmetrical followings on SoundCloud (19,235) and Instagram (19,656). Egorythmia at #9 is the ranking's sleeping giant: 1,833 votes here, but 185,000 YouTube subscribers and 58,819 SoundCloud followers — both the largest figures on their respective platforms in this list. That an act with those numbers sits ninth says less about Egorythmia and more about how fiercely contested the top of this poll was. Blisargon Demogorgon closes things out at #10 with 1,810 votes, just 23 behind Egorythmia — the tightest gap anywhere in the table.

The takeaway: North Macedonia's electronic identity runs on two engines. Psytrance supplies the depth — six acts, decades of collective SoundCloud loyalty, serious YouTube reach. House and its cousins supply the top end, with Billy Esteban, Kala, Marga Sol and Galoski proving the four-four side of the scene can go toe-to-toe with the trance faithful. With 255 votes separating first from second and 23 separating ninth from tenth, next year's poll is anyone's to take.
