Top 10 Afro House DJs: Black Coffee Runs Away With the Fan Vote
By Mara QuinnΒ·October 26, 2026
A runaway at the top
There is no suspense at the top of the afro house Top 10. Black Coffee has 32,523 fan votes. That is more than four times the 7,930 cast for Dj Maphorisa in second, and more than the next four names combined.
The rest of the profile explains why. Among the figures we hold, Black Coffee posts the highest Instagram (5,080,693), SoundCloud (383,552), Last.fm (201,676) and Resident Advisor (50,265) counts in this group, plus a festival count of 371. The credit score of 966 is the only one in the ten above 900. The reach is spread across every channel, and the vote matches it.
Streams don't decide this vote
The most revealing line in the table belongs to Dj Maphorisa. On Spotify, Maphorisa is the bigger draw: 5,177,378 monthly listeners and 4,691,705 followers, against Black Coffee's 3,251,543 and 1,750,728. Add 1,480,000 YouTube subscribers and 3,832,295 Instagram followers and the profile is huge. It still collects less than a quarter of the leader's votes.
That gap shows what a fan vote measures. Streaming totals capture listening. Votes capture people who go out of their way to back an artist. On this evidence, nobody in afro house commands that kind of loyalty like Black Coffee.
Maphorisa's credit score of 843 is the second-highest here, so second place is well earned. With Oskido at No. 5, South Africa takes three of the ten places, including the top two.
The DJ GIAA question
DJ GIAA at No. 3 is the result that breaks the idea that bigger reach means more votes. On 7,152 votes, GIAA sits 778 behind Maphorisa and 1,073 clear of fourth. The strongest platform signal in our data is Instagram, at 161,025 followers, alongside 12,942 on SoundCloud. Whatever is driving that tally, this is not a streaming chart, and that is exactly the point of a fan vote.
It also shows that the vote and the credit score don't always agree. GIAA's 764 is just below Mr. Carmack's 770, yet GIAA finishes above.
Where the real race is
Below the podium, the countdown bunches up. Positions four through ten are separated by 1,135 votes. Mr. Carmack, from the United States, holds fourth on 6,079, just 60 ahead of Oskido's 6,019.
The closest call in the entire table comes next. Buscemi (Belgium) has 5,731 votes and It's Dynamite (United Kingdom) has 5,721, which puts them 10 votes apart. A handful of fans could swap sixth and seventh.
Ziggy Phunk (Denmark) follows on 5,376, then Sam Binga (United Kingdom) on 5,155. Sam Binga is the clearest case of credentials running ahead of the vote. The credit score of 753 is the fifth-highest in this Top 10, and 4,822 RA followers is the second-highest RA figure in our data, yet the fan count lands ninth.
Sarah Anglionin closes the countdown on 4,944 votes and is the only female entry in the ten. The credit score of 666 is the lowest in the group, but the gap to ninth is only 211 votes.
The map
Eight of the ten have a listed country, and those eight cover five: South Africa, the United Kingdom, the United States, Belgium and Denmark. The top of this ranking is South African. The middle reads as a contest between American and European names.
No one is catching Black Coffee on these numbers. But with 10 votes between sixth and seventh and 60 between fourth and fifth, the chasing pack is anything but settled, and every vote moves it.
