The Top 10 DJs Worldwide, Separated by Just 30 Votes at Every Step
By Renata Alves·July 12, 2026
When the ballots closed on our global "Top 10 DJs Worldwide" vote, the story wasn't a runaway. It was a photo finish repeated nine times over. David Guetta tops the list with 11,970 votes, but the margin behind him is almost eerily precise: Armin van Buuren sits at 11,940, Martin Garrix at 11,910, and so on down to Black Coffee at 11,700. Thirty votes separate every rank from the next. The entire top ten fits inside a 270-vote window — a spread this narrow means fan intensity, not a single dominant name, decided the order.
Guetta's #1 finish tracks with a profile built for scale: a Dance/Pop catalog and roughly 87.7 million Spotify monthly listeners, the largest figure in this field. But votes don't simply mirror streaming. Armin van Buuren, second on the ballot, carries the highest credit score of anyone here at 938, edging Guetta's 928. That's the recurring theme of this list — the crowd rewards different things than the algorithms do.
The Netherlands is the country of record for three of the top four. Armin van Buuren (Trance) and Tiësto (Trance) anchor the country's long-standing pull, while Martin Garrix works the Big Room lane. Between them they span the commercial and trance families that have defined main-stage EDM for a decade, and their presence this high explains why the countdown reads like a survey of festival headliners rather than club specialists.
Charlotte de Witte breaks that pattern at #5. Her Techno leans nowhere near the pop-facing streaming totals above her — 1.84 million Spotify monthly listeners — yet 11,850 votes put her ahead of Calvin Harris, whose numbers dwarf hers on paper. Her listed 202 festivals speak to a touring footprint that clearly converts into loyalty at the ballot box. Techno's other standard-bearer, Carl Cox, lands at #8 with a credit score of 912 that outranks several DJs placed above him — another sign the vote rewarded devotion over raw reach.
The commercial contingent fills out the middle and back half. Calvin Harris (#6, Dance/Pop, United Kingdom) and Alok (#7, Dance/Pop, Brazil) both bring enormous social and streaming presence; Alok's listed Instagram and TikTok totals are among the largest here. Fisher, at #9, is the lone Tech House entry and one of the few Australians in the upper tier, riding an outsized 20 million Spotify monthly listeners.
Black Coffee closes the ten at 11,700 votes, and it's a fitting bookend. His Afro House sits furthest from the commercial center of gravity that opens the list, and his 371 listed festivals is the highest festival count in this field — a reminder that global reach in dance music now runs through Johannesburg as surely as it does through Amsterdam or Ibiza.
What makes this countdown worth reading twice is the flatness of it. With genres ranging from Trance to Techno to Afro House all landing within a few dozen votes of each other, there's no single sound ruling the moment. The fans spread their loyalty across the entire map — and the scoreboard shows it, one 30-vote step at a time.
