Techno Holds the Line in Montenegro as Jala Leads the DJ Radar Board

Montenegro has five DJs on the DJ Radar board. That's a small field, but it has a clear identity. Three of the five list techno as their main genre: Jala, Peki and Marko Lazarevic. They hold first, third and fifth place. On this ranking, techno is the country's backbone.

Techno doesn't have the board to itself, though. Elena, in second, plays dance/pop, and Biba, in fourth, is the board's only house DJ. That's the local flavour in miniature: a techno core with a dance/pop contender at No. 2 and a house DJ in the mix.

Jala sets the standard

Jala leads with a credit score of 458 from 1449 votes, the highest vote count of the five.

The more telling detail is breadth. Jala is the only DJ here with stats on record for all of SoundCloud (123 followers), Instagram (3215), Mixcloud (39), Last.fm (6085 listeners) and Resident Advisor (104 followers), plus 12 festivals on record. No single figure carries the profile. Its strength is the spread across platforms, and it's the most complete profile on the board.

Elena brings the commercial edge

Elena is the nearest challenger, on 435 points, 23 behind Jala, with 1030 votes. That's a clear gap, not a photo finish. Still, next to the 156-point drop that follows, it keeps Elena within reach of the top spot in a way nobody else on the board is.

As the only dance/pop name in the top five, Elena gives Montenegro's board its crossover side. Elena is also the only DJ here with a TikTok following on record: 7172.

The chasing pack

After Elena, the board falls to Peki on 279, another techno entry, backed by 632 votes. From there the gaps narrow: Biba sits 14 points back on 265, with 422 votes.

Marko Lazarevic completes the five on 221, and there's a wrinkle worth noting. Marko Lazarevic's 543 votes outnumber Biba's 422, yet Biba ranks higher. On this board, position follows credit score rather than raw votes, and in the lower half of the table that difference decides the order.

A note on the numbers

Outside Jala's profile, the platform stats are patchy. In places they don't match the rest of an artist's data: some figures look implausibly low, others implausibly high for the artist's position. Collected data can contain artifacts, so this piece sticks to credit scores and votes, the board's own measures.

What to watch

The headline race is Jala against Elena, techno against dance/pop, 23 points apart. The closer contest is lower down. Just 14 points separate Peki and Biba, and Marko Lazarevic has more votes than Biba but trails by 44 on credit.

For a five-name board, Montenegro covers a lot of ground. Techno sets the tone, Jala sets the standard, and the fight for third is close enough to make the next update worth checking.
