Tech House Rules the Board: Inside DJ Radar's House Leaders

House is the deepest genre family on DJ Radar, with 3,518 DJs ranked on the board. But the top of that board isn't a sprawl — it's a knife fight, and it's dominated by one strain of the sound.

The tech house takeover

Of the eight leaders, five carry a main genre of tech house: James Hype (#1), Vintage Culture (#2), Dom Dolla (#4), Mau P (#5) and Jamie Jones (#7). Oliver Heldens (#3) flies the future house flag, while Fred again.. (#6) and Bob Sinclar (#8) sit under the broader "House" tag. If you want a one-line read on where the genre's center of gravity is in 2026, that's it: tech house — the stripped, low-slung, hook-forward variant built for peak-time rooms — is the house sound with the most weight at the top.

A photo finish at the summit

The race for #1 is genuinely close. James Hype leads on a credit score of 910, but the chase pack is right behind: Vintage Culture on 904, Oliver Heldens on 903, and Dom Dolla on 901. That's the entire top four inside a 9-point window, with ranks two and three separated by a single point. Hype also draws the most community support in the group, with 11,610 votes — but Heldens (11,190), Dom Dolla (11,100) and Fred again.. (11,070) all cluster just underneath, so the voting margin is as tight as the scoring.

The geography is broad. The United Kingdom places three names on the list — James Hype, Fred again.. and Jamie Jones — while the rest spread across Brazil (Vintage Culture), the Netherlands (Oliver Heldens, Mau P), Australia (Dom Dolla) and France (Bob Sinclar). House, on this evidence, is a genuinely international currency.

Streaming and the stage

Audience footprints vary as much as the styles. On Spotify monthly listeners, Bob Sinclar (21,843,960) and Fred again.. (18,503,350) sit well clear of the pack, followed by James Hype at 12,320,890. Fred again.. also carries the largest Spotify following in the group at 2,672,587.

The leaders who log festival data show why house owns the summer circuit: Jamie Jones lists 270 festivals, Vintage Culture 253, and Mau P 200 — the last of those a striking count for an artist sitting at #5. It's a reminder that the board rewards the road as much as the stream.

What defines the sound right now

Strip away the individual profiles and a shape emerges. The dominant flavor is functional and DJ-first — tech house's rolling basslines and tight arrangements — but the family is wide enough to hold Oliver Heldens' brighter, melodic future house and the more song-led, emotionally expansive work filed simply under House by Fred again.. and Bob Sinclar.

That range is the point. House at the top of DJ Radar isn't a single template; it's a spectrum anchored by tech house, stretched toward pop-facing melody on one side and classic house songcraft on the other. With the top four separated by just 9 points, expect the order to keep moving — this is a leaderboard still being written.
