Tech House Owns the Top: Inside DJ Radar's House Leaders
By Mara Quinn·July 25, 2026

House is the widest room in dance music, and on DJ Radar it is also one of the most populated: 3,517 DJs are currently ranked under the house family. The very top of that board is decided by margins thin enough to fit inside a single good year.
James Hype holds first place with a credit score of 910 and 11,610 votes — the highest vote total anywhere in the top eight. Six points behind, Oliver Heldens and Vintage Culture are level on 904, with Heldens taking second. Dom Dolla sits at 901, Mau P at 893, Fred again.. at 890, Jamie Jones at 887 and Bob Sinclar at 885. First to eighth is a spread of 25 points.
The sound: tech house at the centre
The genre tags tell the clearest story. Five of the eight leaders are listed under Tech House: James Hype, Vintage Culture, Dom Dolla, Mau P and Jamie Jones. That is the current centre of gravity — the stripped-back, swung, bass-forward strain of house built to work at scale, from a 300-capacity basement to a mainstage.
The other three sit just outside it. Oliver Heldens is filed under Future House, the melodic, hook-driven branch he is most associated with. Fred again.. and Bob Sinclar are both tagged simply as House — the broadest label on the board, and the one that covers the most ground.
Votes and reach don't move together
DJ Radar tracks credit score and vote count separately, and the gap between them is instructive. Heldens (11,190), Dom Dolla (11,100), Fred again.. (11,070) and Mau P (10,890) all sit within a few hundred votes of each other, while Vintage Culture ranks third on 8,519 votes and Bob Sinclar eighth on 8,952.
Streaming reach reorders things again. Fred again.. logs 18,503,350 Spotify monthly listeners, 2,672,587 Spotify followers and 1,283,335 Last.fm listeners while sitting sixth on score. Bob Sinclar records 21,843,960 monthly listeners and 1,632,831 Last.fm listeners from eighth. Catalogue depth and vote-driven standing are clearly measuring different things.
Jamie Jones makes the opposite case. His 1,866,189 monthly listeners are the lowest in this group, but he carries 74,499 Resident Advisor followers, 207,000 YouTube subscribers, 429,839 SoundCloud followers and a festival count of 270 — the highest listed here. Vintage Culture logs 253 festivals and Mau P 200. That is a circuit metric, not a streaming one, and it rewards a different kind of career.
Where the leaders come from
The United Kingdom takes three of eight — James Hype, Fred again.. and Jamie Jones. The Netherlands takes two in Oliver Heldens and Mau P. Brazil (Vintage Culture), Australia (Dom Dolla) and France (Bob Sinclar) fill the rest. No single scene dominates, which is consistent with a genre family this large.
What to watch
With 904, 901 and 893 stacked in consecutive ranks, positions two through five are the volatile band. Mau P, at 893 with 200 festivals logged and 4,549,901 monthly listeners, has the shortest climb of anyone outside the top four. James Hype's lead is built on both the highest score and the highest vote count in the group — a stable combination, but a six-point cushion is not much of one.
House's leadership right now is tech house with the edges sanded off for scale. The board reflects that, and the margins say it could look different by the next update.
