Spain's New Order: Techno Queens, Tech House Lifers and a 256-Deep Bench
By Mara Quinn·August 15, 2026

Spain has never lacked dancefloors — what it has now is depth. There are currently 256 Spanish DJs on the DJ Radar board, and the top of the table tells a story of a scene that is both techno-forward and stylistically wide open.
The summit belongs to techno
At number one sits Indira Paganotto, and it isn't close. Her credit score of 897 puts clear air between her and the rest of the field, backed by 11,250 votes — the largest tally of any Spanish artist in the top eight. The numbers behind the score are just as emphatic: 379,953 Spotify monthly listeners, 1,727,610 Instagram followers and 291 festival appearances logged. She is, by every measure on the board, Spain's defining techno export of the moment.
She isn't alone in flying the techno flag. At number four, Fatima Hajji posts a credit score of 791 on 6,704 votes, with 719,133 Instagram followers and 277 festivals to her name — a workload that rivals Paganotto's own. Two women occupying two of Spain's top four slots, both in techno, is the clearest signal of where the country's harder end is heading.
The tech house engine room
If techno owns the peak, tech house owns the middle. John Talabot takes second place with a score of 810, and his profile skews toward the heads: 258,387 Last.fm listeners and 145,074 SoundCloud followers point to an audience that listens deep rather than scrolls past. Wally Lopez, third at 797, counters with reach — 265,590 Spotify monthly listeners, the second-highest streaming figure in the Spanish top eight.
Coyu rounds out the tech house trio at number six with a score of 773, carried by a strong SoundCloud base of 108,828 followers. Between the three of them, Spain's house lineage looks in rude health.
The wildcards
The rest of the top eight is where Spain gets interesting. Schwarz & Funk land at five, matching Coyu's 773 credit score and pulling 221,403 Spotify monthly listeners with a house sound. At seven, Chimo Bayo represents trance with a score of 767 and 107,325 monthly listeners on Spotify. And at eight, Regal carries the flag for drum & bass — a genre rarely seen this high on a Spanish leaderboard — with a 766 score, 6,495 votes and 108,069 Spotify monthly listeners.
That spread matters. Positions two through eight are separated by just 44 credit points — 810 at the top of that cluster, 766 at the bottom — which means everything below Paganotto is genuinely contestable. A strong season from Hajji, a streaming surge from Lopez, a festival run from Regal: any of it could reshuffle the order.
The takeaway
Spain's board reads like a scene in conversation with itself: techno at the summit, tech house as the backbone, and house, trance and drum & bass all holding top-eight real estate. With 256 artists ranked and a chasing pack this tightly bunched, the only safe prediction is that this table won't look the same for long. Paganotto's lead is the one fixed point — everything beneath her is in play.
