Pakistan's Electronic Scene Steps Into Focus: Eight Names on the DJ Radar Board

Pakistan's electronic-music community rarely dominates the global conversation, but the DJ Radar board tells a story worth reading: eight ranked artists, a decisive number one, and a genre map that leans hard toward Electronica while leaving room for bass and melodic sounds at the edges.

Jasmin sets the pace

At the top sits Jasmin, the country's only ranked dubstep artist and its clear front-runner. Her credit score of 538 and 2,152 votes are the highest on the Pakistani board, and the gap to second place is real rather than cosmetic. In a field where Electronica is the default setting, a bass-focused artist leading the pack gives the scene a distinctive edge. Jasmin also carries the most balanced platform footprint here, with 231 SoundCloud followers, 36 on Mixcloud, and a Last.fm listener count in the tens of thousands.

A crowded middle

Below the summit, the numbers tighten. Osama Qureshi (Electronica) sits second on a credit score of 411, trailed closely by Hasan Shabbir at 400 and Mixxtone at 393. Roughly eighteen points separate second from fourth, which makes this stretch of the board the most competitive real estate in Pakistani electronic music. Hasan Shabbir actually edges Osama on raw votes (1,088 to 1,001), a reminder that credit score and popular support don't always move in lockstep.

Mixxtone breaks the Electronica streak with Melodic House & Techno, the first of two artists flying that flag. The style's second representative, Bayaan, lands fifth on a score of 378 with 1,035 votes. Bayaan's profile is a study in contrasts across platforms, and it's worth treating those figures with some care rather than reading too much into any single outlier.

The chasing pack

The lower half of the board belongs again to Electronica. Rizwan-ul-Haq holds sixth with a 288 score and 640 votes, followed by FAHASHI at 267 and 638 votes. Both sit comfortably clear of the entry line, which makes them the natural names to watch as the scene deepens. Rounding out the eight is Sarmad Abdul Ghafoor, currently registering a credit score of 0 on just 2 votes — a profile at the very start of its climb rather than a verdict on the artist.

The local flavour

What the board reveals, taken together, is a scene organized around a single dominant genre. Five of Pakistan's eight ranked DJs work in Electronica, giving the country a recognizable sonic center of gravity. The exceptions matter, though: Jasmin's dubstep sits at number one, and the two Melodic House & Techno artists in Mixxtone and Bayaan point to where the scene might diversify next.

It's a small board by global standards, but not a static one. A clear leader, a fiercely bunched middle, and a handful of emerging names give Pakistan's electronic scene the shape of something still being built. If the chasing pack keeps closing the gap on Jasmin, the next update could look very different — and that's exactly what makes a rising scene worth watching.
