Pakistan's DJ Radar Board: Jasmin Leads a Scene Finding Its Voice

Pakistan's electronic-music footprint on DJ Radar is compact — eight DJs on the board — but the shape of it tells a story worth watching.

A dubstep artist on top

At number one sits Jasmin, a female dubstep DJ with a credit score of 538 built on 2,152 votes — the largest vote haul of anyone on the Pakistani board. In a country list otherwise dominated by electronica, a bass-family artist holding the top spot is a genuine point of difference. Her 16,264 Last.fm listeners suggest an audience that extends beyond the voting core, alongside 231 SoundCloud followers and 36 on Mixcloud.

Her lead is comfortable: 127 points separate her 538 from the chasing pack. The real contest is happening just below.

A three-way squeeze for second

Ranks two through four are a genuinely tight race. Osama Qureshi holds second on 411, Hasan Shabbir sits third on 400, and Mixxtone is fourth on 393 — just 18 points covering all three. Notably, Shabbir's 1,088 votes actually outnumber Qureshi's 1,001; the credit scores, not raw vote counts, are what keep the order as it is. One strong month could reshuffle this entire tier.

Qureshi and Shabbir both work in electronica, the dominant genre on the Pakistani board. Mixxtone breaks the pattern as the country's highest-ranked melodic house & techno artist, and he is not alone in that lane.

The melodic contingent

Fifth-placed Bayaan is the board's other melodic house & techno act, on 377 credits from 1,035 votes — a vote count that actually edges out second-placed Qureshi's. Bayaan also shows 248 TikTok followers and a Last.fm listener figure of 33,211, though platform numbers like that should be read with the usual caution when the rest of a profile is more modest; the credit score and votes are the sturdier signals here.

Together, Mixxtone and Bayaan give Pakistan a recognisable melodic wing — two of the eight ranked artists — sitting alongside Jasmin's bass lane and the electronica majority.

The electronica core

Five of Pakistan's eight ranked DJs list electronica as their main genre, making it the default sound of the board. Beyond the Qureshi–Shabbir duel, Rizwan-ul-Haq holds sixth on 287 credits from 640 votes, with FAHASHI close behind in seventh on 267 from 638 — a gap of 20 points, and just two votes between their tallies.

Rounding out the list is Sarmad Abdul Ghafoor in eighth, currently sitting on a credit score of 0 from 2 votes — effectively a blank slate on the board, with everything still to play for.

What it adds up to

The picture is of a scene in its early ranking days: one clear leader, a fiercely contested middle, and a genre map that is more varied than the raw numbers might suggest. A woman fronting the country's board in dubstep, a two-artist melodic house & techno bloc pushing against an electronica majority, and three DJs within 18 points of each other in the fight for second — Pakistan's next DJ Radar update has several storylines primed to move.

For now, the board belongs to Jasmin. Whether Qureshi, Shabbir or Mixxtone consolidates the runner-up spot is the question the votes will answer next.
