Melodic House & Techno Explained: Anyma Leads a 3-Point Race at the Top
By Sasha Volkov·October 24, 2026

There are 1,044 DJs on the DJ Radar board this snapshot draws from. At the top of the melodic family, eight names share one main-genre label: Melodic House & Techno.
What defines the sound
Melodic house and techno is where club function meets emotional payoff. The groove is steady and hypnotic, but the melody does most of the work: rolling arpeggios, minor-key chord progressions and long breakdowns that build tension over minutes rather than bars. Harder techno leans on pressure and percussion. Melodic records lean on the hook.
That balance means the style works in a dark club or an open-air field. The records are built around the moment the lights drop and the lead line comes in.
A 3-point race at the top
Anyma holds No. 1 with a credit score of 981. John Summit is right behind on 978, 3 points back.
The votes look very different. Anyma has 52,796 to Summit's 33,600, by far the biggest tally in this group. A large lead in votes shows up as only a small lead in points.
The credit score also isn't a straight vote count. Further down, Eric Prydz ranks fourth on 14,028 votes, ahead of Solomun on 14,573.
ARTBAT completes the podium on 966. ARTBAT's 31,926 votes are within 1,674 of Summit's total, but ARTBAT trails Summit by 12 points on score.
A crowded middle
Below the podium the board bunches up. Eric Prydz sits fourth on 947. Solomun and Boris Brejcha both have 945, listed fifth and sixth. Their vote counts are just 92 apart (14,573 to 14,481).
The same thing happens at the bottom of the top eight. Miss Monique is seventh on 930, and Keinemusik is eighth on 929, a single point behind. From first to eighth, the whole group spans 52 points.
Where the leaders come from
The top eight comes from five countries, and none of them dominates. The United States has two (Anyma, John Summit), and so do Ukraine (ARTBAT, Miss Monique) and Germany (Boris Brejcha, Keinemusik). Eric Prydz is listed for Sweden and Solomun for Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Miss Monique is the only DJ in this group listed as female. Miss Monique's profile also has a festival count of 294. Solomun, at 227, is the only other leader with that figure on file.
Reading the platform numbers
Streaming and social figures are large across the group, but they don't line up neatly with rank. John Summit has the highest Spotify monthly listener count here at 11,747,076, yet sits second. Anyma has the most Instagram followers of all eight, with 4,006,910. Of the seven leaders with a Resident Advisor figure listed, Solomun has the most RA followers, at 87,476.
Treat these numbers as context, not verdicts. Platform counts are useful, but no single one explains where a DJ lands on the board.
What to watch
Right now the melodic board is tightly packed. Three points separate first and second, two DJs share a score in the middle, and one point splits seventh and eighth. With margins this small, the order is far from settled.
