Just 15 Points Separate the Top 3 DJs Worldwide
By Sasha Volkov·August 4, 2026
The top of the DJ Radar world ranking is not a landslide. From #1 to #3, the entire podium spans 15 points of credit score: 938, 928, 923. Three artists, three genre families, and a margin thin enough that a single strong season could rearrange it.
Trance holds the summit
Armin van Buuren takes the top spot with a credit score of 938 and 11,940 votes. The Netherlands-based trance DJ arrives there without leading the field on raw platform scale — 14,613,807 monthly Spotify listeners, 4,701,410 Spotify followers, 4,938,795 on Instagram, 2,400,000 on TikTok, 1,187,795 on SoundCloud, 1,738,312 Last.fm listeners and 58,187 on Resident Advisor.
Those are enormous numbers in isolation. In this company, they are the smallest set on the page. That is the most revealing thing about this ranking: whatever the credit score is measuring, it is plainly not a restatement of streaming size.
The most-voted DJ is not number one
David Guetta pulled more votes than anyone else on this podium — 11,970, thirty ahead of Armin — and still lands at #2 with 928.
He also leads the field on nearly every public metric we hold: 87,684,123 monthly Spotify listeners, 28,205,283 Spotify followers, 12,253,645 on Instagram, 6,900,000 on TikTok, 2,585,916 on SoundCloud, 5,185,692 Last.fm listeners and 152,250 Resident Advisor followers. That last figure is worth sitting with. Guetta's main genre is logged here as Dance / Pop, filed under the commercial genre family, and he still carries the largest RA following of the three.
So the scoreboard delivers a genuinely awkward verdict: the biggest audience and the biggest vote total finish second. Ten points is the price, and the data offers no comfortable explanation for it beyond the obvious one — reach and standing are being weighted as different things.
Bass knocking at the door
Skrillex closes the podium at 923 on 11,460 votes, representing the United States and the bass family with a main genre of Bass / Club. Five points is all that separates him from Guetta, which is less than the gap between Guetta and Armin.
His profile is shaped differently from either artist above him. SoundCloud is the standout: 6,675,563 followers, comfortably the largest on this podium and a reminder that the bass world's centre of gravity never fully migrated to the DSPs. He is also the only artist here with a YouTube figure on file, at 2,460,000 subscribers. On Instagram he sits at 12,083,723 — roughly 170,000 behind Guetta, which at this scale is a rounding error. Spotify gives him 22,231,503 monthly listeners and 7,670,126 followers, with 2,957,022 Last.fm listeners and 89,527 on Resident Advisor.
What the podium says about the scene
Three slots, three genre families: trance, commercial dance/pop, and bass. There is no consolidation happening at the top of this list — if anything, the opposite. The vote totals are clustered inside 510 of each other across all three, and the scores inside 15. This is not a hierarchy so much as a photo finish that happens to have been printed in order.
The useful takeaway for anyone reading the ranking as a form guide: the artist with the largest streaming footprint by a wide margin did not win, and the artist with the most votes did not win either. Whatever separates 938 from 928 is doing work that the follower counts alone will not show you.
