Iran's Psy-Trance Engine: Inner Sphere Fronts a Rising IR Scene
By Mara Quinn·July 14, 2026

Scan Iran's corner of the DJ Radar board and one thing lands immediately: this is Psy-Trance country. Of the ranked IR artists, five of the top eight build their profiles on the genre, and the sound sits at the very top of the standings. Nine DJs currently hold spots on the board for IR, and the character of that group is defined less by any single crossover star than by a shared genre identity.
Leading the pack is Inner Sphere, whose Psy-Trance profile carries a credit score of 585 and the deepest vote tally in the country at 3,491. That vote count is the clearest signal of the gap between first and the field — no other IR artist comes close on volume. On the numbers that matter to the ranking, Inner Sphere is the reference point everyone else is measured against.
Behind the leader, the race tightens dramatically. Bellatrix (525), Black Scorpion Music (520) and DJ WERSY (518) are separated by just seven points across second, third and fourth. Three of those four names — Inner Sphere, Bellatrix and Black Scorpion Music — are Psy-Trance acts, underlining how thoroughly the genre sets the tone here. The lone break in the pattern near the top is DJ WERSY, whose lane is Melodic House & Techno, a reminder that Iran's electronic output isn't monolithic even where the psy sound is loudest.
The middle of the board keeps the thread going. Reborn (485) is another Psy-Trance name with a substantial 9,893 Last.fm listeners feeding its profile, and the genre's grip only loosens as you move down the ranking. Xerxes The Dark (350) shifts the palette entirely toward Electronica, and is the only IR artist on the board with a festival appearance logged. Bunshi (324) returns to Psy-Trance, while MOREGO (285) rounds out the listed artists with a House profile.
What's striking is how the local flavour holds across such different follower footprints. Some of these artists show sizable Instagram numbers — DJ WERSY and Black Scorpion Music both carry followings well into the tens of thousands — while others lean on streaming or Last.fm engagement instead. Bellatrix, for instance, posts 12,193 Last.fm listeners, and Reborn's near-ten-thousand there tells a similar story. These are profiles built through different channels, yet they converge on the same stylistic center.
For a scene watcher, the takeaway is straightforward. Iran's DJ Radar presence is anchored by Psy-Trance, with Inner Sphere as the clear front-runner on both credit score and votes, and a genuinely close contest for the podium spots just behind. The genre concentration gives the IR board a distinct identity: where some countries spread across house, techno and trance in roughly equal measure, Iran's ranked artists point overwhelmingly in one direction.
Whether DJ WERSY's melodic lane or Xerxes The Dark's electronica can push higher against that psy-heavy field is the open question. For now, the story of Iran on DJ Radar is a Psy-Trance story — and Inner Sphere is writing the headline.
