Inside the Hard Scene: Angerfist's 3-Point Edge and Hardstyle's Deep Bench
By Sasha Volkov·November 3, 2026

The board at a glance
DJ Radar currently tracks 275 DJs in its hard family, and the top of that list is crowded. Angerfist leads with a credit score of 877, a 3-point edge over S3RL on 874. Behind them, Sub Zero Project and Lil Texas are level on 866. Da Tweekaz sits on 861, Headhunterz on 858, Darren Styles on 850 and Wildstylez on 844.
Just 33 points separate first from eighth. In a field this size, that is a compressed summit.
Hardcore on top, hardstyle in depth
The genre split shows how the scene is built. The two highest-ranked names, Angerfist and S3RL, are both filed under hardcore. Every other act in the top eight is hardstyle.
So hardcore holds the crown and hardstyle supplies the depth, with six of the eight leaders. Any explanation of what "hard" means on this board has to start there.
Angerfist: breadth over one big number
Angerfist's lead comes from a broad base, not a single headline stat. He has 1,099,261 Spotify monthly listeners, 600,873 Spotify followers, 1,120,000 YouTube subscribers, 751,697 Instagram followers, 293,384 SoundCloud followers and 7,316 RA followers, alongside 7,869 votes.
Among the top eight, his YouTube, Instagram, SoundCloud and RA totals are all the highest. That spread across platforms is what a frontrunner's profile looks like.
S3RL: the closest challenger
S3RL, from Australia, sits 3 points back. The act's 2,742,796 Spotify monthly listeners and 650,262 Spotify followers are both the highest among the leaders. YouTube adds 953,000 subscribers, and the vote count stands at 7,784.
With the top two this close, the hardcore lead is a duel and not a coronation.
The tie at 866
Sub Zero Project (Netherlands) and Lil Texas (United States) share a credit score of 866, but their profiles look different. Sub Zero Project has 8,169 votes, the most of any act in the top eight, plus 1,149,114 Spotify monthly listeners and 282,051 Instagram followers.
Lil Texas has 7,988 votes, 2,194,746 Spotify monthly listeners, 339,180 Instagram followers and 349,300 TikTok followers. Two routes, one score.
Votes don't set the order alone
The lower half of the top eight makes a useful point. Wildstylez, eighth on 844, has 7,742 votes. That is more than Headhunterz (7,674), Da Tweekaz (7,278) and Darren Styles (7,231), all of whom rank higher.
Whatever separates these acts, raw vote totals alone don't explain it.
The hardstyle chasers each bring something different. Da Tweekaz, from Norway, has 1,787,111 Spotify monthly listeners and 351,658 Spotify followers. Headhunterz has 732,469 Instagram followers, 651,000 YouTube subscribers and 525,629 Spotify followers. Darren Styles, from the United Kingdom, has 1,803,463 Spotify monthly listeners and 274,060 Last.fm listeners. Wildstylez rounds out the group with 1,020,058 monthly listeners.
The Dutch core, the international reach
Four of the eight leaders come from the Netherlands: Angerfist, Sub Zero Project, Headhunterz and Wildstylez. The rest come from Australia, the United States, Norway and the United Kingdom, so five countries in all.
The Netherlands is clearly the centre of gravity, but the leaders aren't a single-country story.
What defines the hard scene right now
Taken together, the board shows a scene with three traits:
- Hardcore at the peak. The top two spots belong to hardcore, separated by 3 points. - Hardstyle in volume. Six of the eight leaders are hardstyle, between 844 and 866. - Dutch-rooted, internationally spread. Half the leaders are Dutch, and the other half come from four other countries.
With 33 points covering the whole top eight and a tie at third, small movements could reshape this list. It's one to keep checking.
