Inside DJ Radar's Commercial Board: Who Leads and What Defines the Sound
By Sasha Volkov·October 18, 2026

Commercial is where electronic music meets the mainstream. Its records move between festival stages, streaming playlists and radio without changing shape. On DJ Radar, 92 DJs currently sit in the commercial family, and the eight at the top show where the genre's weight lies right now.
Two at the summit
David Guetta holds No. 1 with a credit score of 995, backed by 85,688 votes. Martin Garrix is No. 2 on 987, with 53,013 votes. Eight points separate them.
Behind Garrix, the board drops 41 points to Calvin Harris at No. 3 on 946. That is the steepest step anywhere in the top eight. The vote gap at the top is wider still: Guetta's total alone is larger than the combined votes of every act from No. 3 to No. 8.
A five-way scrum
Below Harris, the board compresses. Hardwell is No. 4 on 925, Alok No. 5 on 920, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike No. 6 on 917, Swedish House Mafia No. 7 on 914 and DJ Snake No. 8 on 911. Just 14 points cover all five, and from Alok downward each step is exactly three points.
The votes are bunched too. Hardwell has 13,163, Alok 12,993 and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike 12,914, followed by Swedish House Mafia on 11,444 and DJ Snake on 9,847. Across the whole top eight, vote totals fall in exactly the same order as the ranks.
Streams are not the scoreboard
Spotify tells a different story. Calvin Harris draws 75,197,087 monthly listeners, second only to Guetta's 82,926,860, yet sits third on the board. DJ Snake, at No. 8, has 47,106,001, the third-highest figure in the group. Garrix, at No. 2, has 23,270,906, which ranks sixth of the eight.
Hardwell runs the other way, pairing a No. 4 placing with 5,672,168 monthly listeners, the lowest among the leaders. In this genre, streaming reach and board position are related but clearly not the same measurement.
What defines the sound
The top eight span four main-genre tags, and together they sketch the commercial sound.
- Big Room has the most acts, with three: Hardwell, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Swedish House Mafia. It is the festival-scale end of the spectrum, built around big build-ups and drops designed for huge crowds. - Dance / Pop belongs to Guetta and Harris. It means vocal-led, song-first records made to work as well on a playlist as on a dancefloor. - Mainstage is the tag for Garrix and Alok: the anthemic, headline-slot sound of the biggest festival stages. - EDM is DJ Snake's listed genre, the catch-all term that covers much of this territory.
What unites them is intent, not a single tempo or drum pattern. These are records built on hooks and scale, made to reach the widest possible audience.
A European board, with one exception
France and the Netherlands each place two DJs in the top eight: Guetta and DJ Snake for France, Garrix and Hardwell for the Netherlands. The United Kingdom, Belgium and Sweden have one apiece. Alok, listed under Brazil, is the only leader from outside Europe.
What to watch
The summit is an eight-point contest between Guetta and Garrix, with a 41-point cushion over Harris. The real volatility sits in the 911-to-925 band, where five acts are separated by 14 points and any movement could reorder the pack. For a genre built on big moments, the commercial board's most interesting drama is happening just below the headliners.
