Indonesia Rising: A 10-Point Title Race at the Top of a Scene That Refuses to Pick One Sound
By Mara Quinn·August 12, 2026

Indonesia currently places 39 DJs on the DJ Radar board, and the view from the top tells you almost everything about why this scene is worth watching: no two neighbouring names sound alike.
A genuinely tight race at the summit
At number one sits DONT BLINK, a tech-house act with a credit score of 760 and 5,912 votes. The streaming picture is broad rather than narrow: 497,871 Spotify monthly listeners, 41,793 Mixcloud followers, 31,624 Last.fm listeners, 15,340 on SoundCloud and 2,401 on Resident Advisor. That Mixcloud number in particular points to an audience that shows up for full-length mixes, not just singles.
Ten points back — 750 to DONT BLINK's 760 — is Angger Dimas, flying the flag for house. Here's the twist: Dimas actually holds *more* votes than the leader, 5,931 to 5,912, a 19-vote edge. His footprint skews toward community platforms, with 86,507 SoundCloud followers and 103,532 on Instagram against 45,833 Spotify monthly listeners. Two artists, two completely different routes to the top of the same board. This one could flip.
The middle of the table is where the flavour lives
Third-ranked Papa Khan (credit score 716, 5,798 votes) brings dubstep into the conversation, with 73,152 Spotify monthly listeners and a healthy 28,744 on Last.fm. Right behind him, Adip Kiyoi (694) works the melodic house & techno lane and actually edges Papa Khan on monthly listeners with 74,415 — striking for an artist ranked fourth.
Attila Syah holds fifth at 670, representing psy-trance — a genre family no one else in the top eight touches. Mardial (666, on 5,382 votes) doubles up the melodic house & techno presence and carries a notably social-first profile: 56,432 Instagram followers alongside 38,465 Spotify monthly listeners.
Seventh place goes to Axl Ghozy Adnan Farouq (602), the board's drum & bass entry, with 52,953 Instagram followers and 23,100 YouTube subscribers. Lindo Habie rounds out the top eight at 557, a second house name keeping the four-to-the-floor contingent honest.
Why this matters
Count the styles: tech house, house, dubstep, melodic house & techno, psy-trance, drum & bass — six distinct main genres across eight artists, spanning four genre families. Plenty of national scenes consolidate around one export sound. Indonesia's board looks more like an ecosystem, with bass music, melodic techno and psy-trance all producing artists capable of drawing four-figure vote counts. Every DJ in the top seven cleared 3,700 votes; the top three all cleared 5,700.
The vote distribution is the real tell. This isn't one superstar towing a long tail — the gap from first to eighth is 203 credit points spread across six genres, and the fiercest contest is at the very top, where 19 votes and 10 credit points separate two artists who share a country, a family of genres, and almost nothing else stylistically.
Keep an eye on the DONT BLINK–Angger Dimas duel. And keep the other ear on the undercard — with 39 Indonesian DJs now ranked, the next mover could come from any of them.
