House Rules: The Eight DJs Defining the Genre on DJ Radar Right Now

House is the most crowded battleground on DJ Radar — 3,519 DJs currently sit on the board under the house family — and the summit is tighter than it has been in recent memory. Just seven credit points separate the top three, and the top eight span barely thirty. In a genre this deep, the leaders earn their positions week by week.

The top three: a transatlantic squeeze

At number one sits James Hype, the United Kingdom's technical showman, with a credit score of 909 built on 11,610 votes. His profile is the modern house blueprint: 12,320,890 Spotify monthly listeners, 1,741,729 Instagram followers, 1.7 million on TikTok, and a punishing 194 festival appearances. He wins on both sides of the ledger — streaming reach and relentless live presence.

Brazil's Vintage Culture trails by just four points at 905. His numbers tell a different story: a comparatively modest 6,309,436 Spotify monthly listeners, but a colossal 11,788,386 Instagram following — the largest social footprint in the top eight — plus 2,097,980 Spotify followers and 253 festival dates. Few artists convert casual listeners into committed followers at this rate.

Oliver Heldens rounds out the podium at 902, powered by 11,190 votes. The Dutchman's spread is the most balanced of the three — 5,848,094 monthly listeners, 1,084,623 Spotify followers, and a notable 38,300 followers on Resident Advisor, a signal of credibility with the club-facing crowd as well as the mainstage.

Tech house holds its ground

Dom Dolla lands at four with a 900 credit score and 11,100 votes, flying the tech house flag with 6,503,310 monthly listeners and 136 festivals. Two spots below him, tech house veteran Jamie Jones matches fifth-placed Fred again.. on credit score at 885, and leads the entire top eight in festival volume with 270 appearances — proof that his currency remains the dancefloor itself. His 74,499 Resident Advisor followers dwarf his 395 on TikTok, a profile shaped by clubs rather than algorithms.

The streaming giants

The most striking numbers in the data belong to artists outside the podium. Fred again.., fifth at 885, commands 18,503,350 Spotify monthly listeners and 162,106 Resident Advisor followers — the highest RA count on the list — alongside 4,515,697 Instagram followers. Remarkably, his TikTok following sits at just 20, an almost defiant absence from the platform.

France supplies the final two entries, and both are streaming monsters. Bob Sinclar, seventh at 882, pulls 21,843,960 Spotify monthly listeners. HUGEL, eighth at 880, tops everyone with 33,778,841 — the biggest streaming audience in the entire top eight, paired with 2,646,416 Instagram followers and 178 festival dates. That HUGEL's enormous reach still lands him eighth underlines how DJ Radar's credit system weighs more than raw listenership.

What the leaderboard says about house

Three patterns emerge. First, house's leadership is genuinely global: the United Kingdom claims three of the eight spots, France two, with Brazil and the Netherlands represented alongside them. Second, there is no single path to the top — Jamie Jones grinds 270 festivals, Fred again.. barely tours by comparison at 39, and both hold the same credit score. Third, tech house is no longer a subplot; with Dom Dolla and Jamie Jones inside the top six, it functions as a fully-fledged wing of the genre's mainstream.

With margins this thin — four points between first and second, and 11,370 voters backing eighth-placed HUGEL, more than voted for anyone below the top spot — expect this table to keep moving. In house right now, nobody's seat is safe.
