Hardcore Holds the Crown, Hardstyle Holds the Depth: Inside DJ Radar's Hard Scene
By Theo Lindqvist·October 14, 2026

DJ Radar's hard family currently counts 276 ranked DJs. At the top, that field narrows to eight names, and the leaderboard tells a clear story. Hardcore holds the summit and Hardstyle supplies the depth. The Netherlands also has more DJs among the leaders than any other country.
Hardcore at the summit
Both of the board's highest-ranked hard DJs list Hardcore as their main genre. Angerfist (Netherlands) leads on a credit score of 877 from 7,869 votes. S3RL (Australia) sits three points behind on 874, with 7,784 votes.
They arrive by different routes. Angerfist's profile is wide across platforms: 1,120,000 YouTube subscribers, 747,869 Instagram followers (the most among the eight leaders), 598,267 Spotify followers and 293,384 on SoundCloud. S3RL's calling card is streaming reach. That means 2,775,435 Spotify monthly listeners, the highest figure in the top eight, plus 645,119 Spotify followers.
Hardstyle owns the middle
Five of the top eight list Hardstyle as their main genre. That makes it the dominant sound among the leaders, even without the No. 1 spot.
Sub Zero Project (Netherlands) holds third on 870 and has the largest vote count in the group at 8,169. Lil Texas (United States) matches that 870 credit score from 7,988 votes. Lil Texas also has 2,317,820 Spotify monthly listeners, second only to S3RL among the leaders, plus 326,301 Instagram followers and 348,500 on TikTok.
Da Tweekaz (Norway) is fifth on 860 from 7,278 votes, backed by 1,770,211 Spotify monthly listeners and 341,000 YouTube subscribers. Headhunterz (Netherlands) follows on 857 from 7,674 votes. The 733,404 Instagram followers on file sit just behind Angerfist's mark, alongside 651,000 YouTube subscribers and 524,040 Spotify followers.
Wildstylez (Netherlands) rounds out the top eight on 845. Its 7,742 votes are more than three DJs ranked above it received: Da Tweekaz, Headhunterz and Darren Styles. It's a reminder that the order follows credit score, not raw votes.
The Hard Dance exception
Darren Styles (United Kingdom) is the only leader whose main genre is Hard Dance. Seventh on 849 from 7,231 votes, Darren Styles leans on listening numbers. The profile shows 1,829,779 Spotify monthly listeners, the third-highest in the group, and 274,060 Last.fm listeners.
What defines the scene right now
Taken together, the top eight sketch a scene with three registers. Hardcore occupies the top two places. Hardstyle is the broadest lane, with five of the eight leaders. Hard Dance holds a single seat, but one with strong streaming numbers.
Geography tells a similar story. Four of the eight leaders are from the Netherlands: Angerfist, Sub Zero Project, Headhunterz and Wildstylez. The other four come from four different countries: Australia, the United States, Norway and the United Kingdom. The Netherlands leads the top of this board, but it doesn't own it.
How close is the race?
At the top, close. Three points split Angerfist and S3RL. Seven points separate first place from fourth, 877 to 870, and Sub Zero Project and Lil Texas are level on score. Below that the gaps widen, and the full top eight spans 32 points, from 877 to 845.
For now, Hardcore owns the crown. But with two Hardstyle names level on 870, its lead over them is in single digits.
