Five Points Separate the Top of Peru's DJ Radar Board

Five Points Separate the Top of Peru's DJ Radar Board

Peru has 18 DJs on the DJ Radar board, and the fight at the top of it is close enough to make the ranking feel provisional.

Lewis OfMan holds rank 1 with a credit score of 802 and 7,754 votes, filed under Nu-Disco / Indie Dance. Sofia Kourtesis is rank 2 with 797 and 6,769 votes, working in Deep House. Five points. On a table where eighth place scores 465, five points is barely a gap at all — it is the kind of margin that a single strong voting week rewrites.

The two aren't competing for the same audience, which is part of what makes the standoff interesting. Lewis OfMan's streaming footprint is the largest on the board: 4,240,578 Spotify monthly listeners, 175,886 Spotify followers, 109,000 YouTube subscribers and 358,887 Last.fm listeners. Kourtesis, whose profile lists her as female, posts 470,565 monthly listeners and 93,780 Spotify followers — but leads the country on Resident Advisor with 20,714 followers to Lewis OfMan's 16,250, and on SoundCloud with 11,469 to 8,235. One artist is winning the playlist economy; the other is winning the club-listings economy. The scores have landed almost on top of each other anyway.

A board with no house style

The most striking thing about Peru's top eight isn't any single name — it's how little the genres overlap.

Ammo Avenue takes rank 3 with 729 and 5,868 votes in Tech House, with 34,365 Instagram followers and 121,595 Spotify monthly listeners. Kayfex is rank 4 on 701 and 5,839 votes, and is the only bass-family artist in the group, listed under Dubstep. Kayfex's audience skews visual and short-form: 90,600 TikTok followers against 46,606 monthly listeners and 27,405 on Instagram.

Twenty-nine votes separate third from fourth. Twenty-one separate fifth from sixth, where DJ Towa (Trance, 652, 4,957 votes) edges MONO (House, 649, 4,936 votes). Nu-disco, deep house, tech house, dubstep, trance and house, in six consecutive slots. Few national boards run that broad without a dominant local sound pulling everything toward the centre.

DJ Bryanflow sits at rank 7 with 634 and 2,680 votes under Electronica, and is the board's clearest video-first act — 532,000 YouTube subscribers and 106,571 Instagram followers, a following built somewhere other than the streaming platforms the artists above him lead on. Ronaldz closes the listed group at rank 8, also Electronica, on 465 and 1,381 votes.

A note on the numbers

A few figures on this board don't sit comfortably with the profiles around them. MONO's 770,865 Last.fm listeners run far ahead of a 5,188 Spotify monthly listener count. DJ Towa carries 41,861 Spotify followers against 14,906 monthly listeners. Both patterns are unusual enough that we're not building any argument on them; platform data collected at scale carries artifacts, and the honest move is to flag them rather than dress them up as insight.

What holds up without caveats is the shape of the top: two artists five points apart, pulling from different rooms, with a genre spread underneath them that hasn't settled into a house style. Peru's board looks less like a scene with a centre and more like one still choosing where its centre goes.
