Deep House Explained: Who Leads DJ Radar's 486-DJ Field Right Now

Deep house is one of the busiest rooms on DJ Radar. Right now 486 DJs sit on the board under the deephouse family, and all eight leaders list Deep House as their main genre.

Put their numbers side by side, though, and the profiles look very different. One genre tag with many routes to the top is the clearest way to read the scene right now.

A summit split by 7 points

Germany's Robin Schulz holds No. 1 with a credit score of 918 from 9,211 votes. Robin Schulz also has the biggest streaming footprint in the top eight: 26,028,262 Spotify monthly listeners, 3,488,277 Spotify followers and 3,800,000 YouTube subscribers.

Belgium's Lost Frequencies sits five points back on 913, from 8,683 votes. With 21,449,263 monthly listeners and 3,234,071 Spotify followers, Lost Frequencies is the only other leader above 20 million monthly listeners.

Switzerland's Nora en Pure completes the podium on 911, just 7 points behind first. This is where the board turns. Nora en Pure has the most votes in the top eight, 11,227, but the smallest Spotify monthly audience among the leaders, 1,342,105. In deep house, streaming scale alone doesn't decide the order.

Different platforms, different strengths

Canada's KAYTRANADA is No. 4 on 904 from 8,941 votes. This profile is strongest on other platforms: the highest Last.fm count among the leaders (1,554,867), the biggest SoundCloud following recorded in the group (751,515) and the largest recorded RA following (134,002).

The United Kingdom supplies two of the eight. CamelPhat is No. 5 on 901 from 8,309 votes, with 6,372,296 monthly listeners, 74,827 RA followers and a festival count of 269.

Gorgon City follows at No. 6 on 897 from 8,008 votes. Alongside 2,682,796 monthly listeners and 335,176 SoundCloud followers, Gorgon City's 19,433 Mixcloud followers trail only Robin Schulz's 43,025 among the recorded figures.

Votes versus streams

The lower half of the top eight shows the split most clearly. The Netherlands' Maddix is No. 7 on 894 but holds 11,015 votes, second only to Nora en Pure. Maddix also has 4,702,028 monthly listeners and a festival count of 255.

Italy's MEDUZA closes the group at No. 8 on 880. MEDUZA has the fewest votes of the eight (7,739). It also has the third-highest monthly listener count (11,798,344) and the second-largest recorded YouTube base (1,530,000), behind only Robin Schulz.

What defines deep house on DJ Radar

Closeness. The top five are separated by 17 points (918 to 901), and the whole top eight by 38 (918 to 880).

Balance. The two biggest streamers hold first and second, but the two most-voted DJs sit third and seventh. No single platform runs this genre.

Reach. Eight leaders come from seven countries: Germany, Belgium, Switzerland, Canada, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands and Italy. The UK is the only one with two names.

If you're following the race, watch votes and streams together. In a field this close, neither one tells the whole story.
