Deep House at the Top: Three Points Separate the Leaders

Deep house is one of the broadest families on DJ Radar — 486 DJs currently sit on the board. It is also one of the most tightly contested at the top.

The leaderboard opens with Lost Frequencies (Belgium) on a credit score of 886, with Robin Schulz (Germany) at 883 directly behind. That is three points between first and second, a gap narrow enough that it says more about parity than dominance.

The compression continues. KAYTRANADA (Canada) holds third on 873, one point clear of Nora en Pure (Switzerland) on 872. Below them, Gorgon City (United Kingdom) and Maddix (Netherlands) are level on 854 apiece — a genuine tie at fifth and sixth. Kerri Chandler (United States) follows on 849, and CamelPhat (United Kingdom) closes the top eight on 841. From first to eighth, the entire spread is 45 points.

Votes tell a different story

Credit score and popular support don't move in lockstep here, and that divergence is the most interesting thing on the board.

Maddix sits sixth by score but leads the entire top eight on votes with 11,160. Nora en Pure is fourth by score and second by votes with 10,860 — ahead of both Lost Frequencies (8,652) and Robin Schulz (9,173), the two names above her. KAYTRANADA logs 8,917, Gorgon City 7,960, CamelPhat 7,394, and Kerri Chandler 7,315.

In other words: the artists the board scores highest are not automatically the artists the board votes for hardest. Deep house's audience is not voting as a bloc.

Two routes to the same genre tag

Look at the platform profiles and the top eight splits into two clear shapes.

One group is streaming-forward. Robin Schulz carries 35,164,413 Spotify monthly listeners and 2,629,832 Instagram followers. Lost Frequencies posts 23,175,356 monthly listeners and 3,194,781 Spotify followers. CamelPhat sits at 6,579,200 monthly listeners, Maddix at 4,520,271.

The other group indexes on the club circuit. KAYTRANADA leads the field on Resident Advisor with 134,002 followers and on SoundCloud with 751,515 — while sitting at 8,628,070 Spotify monthly listeners, well below the streaming leaders. CamelPhat (74,827 RA) and Gorgon City (67,663 RA) occupy similar territory. Kerri Chandler's profile leans the same way: 45,418 RA followers against 1,941,094 monthly listeners. Nora en Pure shows a third pattern again, with 289,698 SoundCloud followers running well ahead of her 104,783 Spotify followers.

Deep house, as this board defines it, is a tag wide enough to hold radio-scale crossover records and dancefloor-first catalogues under the same heading. That breadth is why 486 names qualify.

Geography

Seven countries are represented across eight positions: Belgium, Germany, Canada, Switzerland, the United Kingdom (twice), the Netherlands and the United States. No single scene owns the top tier.

What to watch

The pressure points are obvious. One point separates third from fourth. Fifth and sixth are dead level on 854. And with Maddix and Nora en Pure both out-polling the names ranked above them, the next movement on this board is unlikely to come from the top down.
