Deadlocked at 995: Armin van Buuren and David Guetta Share the Summit as Charlotte de Witte Closes In
By Imani BrooksยทNovember 1, 2026
The top of the DJ Radar worldwide ranking is less a podium than a photo finish. Armin van Buuren and David Guetta share a credit score of 995, and Charlotte de Witte sits on 992. That is three DJs from three genre families, and just 3 points from first to third.
A tie at the top
The credit score cannot separate the two leaders. The vote count does line up with the order. Van Buuren holds 86,057 votes to Guetta's 85,688, a gap of 369. De Witte's 85,330 put her 358 behind Guetta and 727 behind van Buuren.
All three are above 85,000 votes, so those margins are slim. This is a genuinely tight race. The order comes from fine distinctions, not a runaway leader.
Reach is not the ranking
This is where the table gets interesting. On the platforms, Guetta operates at a different scale. His 82,041,818 Spotify monthly listeners are more than five times van Buuren's 15,203,152. He also leads the trio on Spotify followers (28,719,947), YouTube (27,900,000 subscribers), Instagram (12,453,314), TikTok (7,000,000) and Last.fm (5,185,692 listeners).
Yet the credit score has him level with van Buuren, not ahead. It also puts de Witte, with 1,784,407 Spotify monthly listeners, within 3 points of both. Whatever goes into the score, it does not simply turn streaming numbers into rank. That is the most useful thing this top three tells you: audience size and standing in the ranking are related, but they are not the same thing.
Armin van Buuren: trance at the top
Trance holds the number one spot. Van Buuren's profile is balanced rather than spiky, with 15,203,152 monthly Spotify listeners, 4,801,846 Spotify followers, 6,200,000 YouTube subscribers, 1,187,795 SoundCloud followers and 1,738,312 Last.fm listeners. He leads de Witte on every one of those, and he has the highest vote count of the three.
David Guetta: the commercial heavyweight
Guetta is the only representative of the commercial family here, listed under Dance / Pop. Beyond the headline streaming figures, he also leads the trio on SoundCloud (2,585,916) and RA (152,250).
He sits second in the order while level on score, and that makes the point. On this table, a huge audience gets you to the top, but it does not guarantee first place.
Charlotte de Witte: techno, 3 points back
De Witte is the only woman in the top three and the only techno name. Her 992 comes with a smaller streaming footprint (1,784,407 Spotify monthly listeners, 1,471,950 Spotify followers, 1,010,000 YouTube subscribers), but her profile has weight elsewhere. Her 60,037 RA followers edge out van Buuren's 58,187, and her record shows a festival count of 202.
Add a vote count within 727 of the leader, and that is the most likely explanation for how a techno DJ gets this close to the two names above her without their streaming scale.
The scene around it
Read as a snapshot, this top three splits the summit three ways: trance, commercial dance-pop and techno, each with a credible claim. All three come from a compact corner of Western Europe (the Netherlands, France and Belgium), but they arrive from very different directions.
The margins are small enough that nothing here feels settled. With a tie at 995 and a 3-point gap to third, a small shift could reshuffle the order. For now, trance leads, the mainstream shares the summit, and techno is close enough to hear it.
