Commercial Dance on DJ Radar Right Now: Guetta Out Front, Big Room Holding the Floor
By Theo Lindqvist·August 12, 2026

Commercial dance is the biggest tent in electronic music, and on DJ Radar it currently houses 92 ranked DJs. At the top, the picture is unusually stable — and unusually Dutch, French, and Big Room-flavored.
The front-runner
David Guetta sits at No. 1 with a credit score of 928, backed by 11,970 votes — the highest vote count on the board. The French Dance / Pop veteran pairs that ranking strength with enormous streaming reach: 87,684,123 Spotify monthly listeners and 28,205,283 Spotify followers. Add 12,253,645 Instagram followers and 6,900,000 on TikTok, and Guetta's lead looks less like a hot streak and more like infrastructure.
A four-point fight for second
Behind him, the podium race is genuinely close. Martin Garrix (Netherlands, Big Room) holds No. 2 at 909, while Calvin Harris (United Kingdom, Dance / Pop) is No. 3 at 905 — a four-point gap. Their vote counts are nearly level too: 11,910 for Garrix against 11,820 for Harris.
They get there differently. Garrix leads the pair on Instagram with 15,202,056 followers. Harris counters with streaming scale closer to Guetta's: 80,769,216 Spotify monthly listeners, plus 7,500,061 SoundCloud followers and 194,696 followers on Resident Advisor — the largest RA following among these eight.
Big Room's grip on the midfield
What defines commercial dance right now, at least by main genre tags, is Big Room. Six of the top eight carry it: Garrix, Alok, Hardwell, Swedish House Mafia, Steve Aoki, and Afrojack. Only Guetta and Harris are listed under Dance / Pop.
Alok, Brazil's entry at No. 4 with a score of 885, is the board's short-form heavyweight: 28,890,588 Instagram followers — the most of anyone here — and 15,100,000 on TikTok, alongside 26,816,216 Spotify monthly listeners. Hardwell follows at No. 5 with 884, one point back, with 1,650,000 YouTube subscribers leading that platform among the leaders.
Then the board compresses hard. Swedish House Mafia sit sixth at 878, with 27,345,458 Spotify monthly listeners and a notably strong Last.fm base of 2,696,705 listeners. Steve Aoki and Afrojack are tied at 877 for seventh and eighth — Aoki ahead on votes and carrying 4,182,253 SoundCloud followers, Afrojack posting 27,489,644 Spotify monthly listeners and 98,578 Mixcloud followers, the largest Mixcloud following in this group. From Hardwell at 884 down to the 877 tie, just seven points cover four acts. In credit-score terms, the midfield is a scrum.
The geography of the sound
The national breakdown tells its own story: three of the eight leaders — Garrix, Hardwell, and Afrojack — represent the Netherlands, the enduring engine room of Big Room. France, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Sweden, and the United States claim one slot each. Commercial dance remains a European export business with a genuinely global cap table, and Alok's presence at No. 4 marks South America's firmest foothold near the top.
What it adds up to
The commercial board rewards two things: raw streaming mass (Guetta and Harris both clear 80 million Spotify monthly listeners) and festival-bred Big Room identity (everyone else in the eight). The top three are settled but not safe — four points between second and third is nothing over a voting cycle — and the 877–884 cluster below means a single strong season could reshuffle half the leaderboard. For now, though, the crown is Guetta's, and the sound underneath it is still built for the main stage.
