Commercial Dance in 2026: David Guetta Leads a Field of 88 on DJ Radar
By Mara Quinn·July 8, 2026

Commercial dance music has always been the genre family everyone hears, whether they seek it out or not. On DJ Radar, 88 DJs currently populate the commercial board, and every artist in the top eight files under the same banner: Dance / Pop. That uniformity tells you something about the category — this is the sound of festival main stages, radio playlists, and streaming's biggest crossover moments.
The summit
At the top sits David Guetta, the French veteran, with a credit score of 928 built on 11,970 votes. His streaming footprint backs up the ranking: 87,684,123 Spotify monthly listeners and 28,205,283 Spotify followers, numbers that place him firmly in pop-star territory rather than DJ-booth obscurity.
Behind him, the race genuinely tightens. Martin Garrix holds second at 908, and Calvin Harris sits third at 905 — just three points apart. Harris actually out-streams Garrix by a wide margin, with 80,769,216 Spotify monthly listeners to the Dutchman's 24,718,671, but Garrix edges ahead on Instagram, where his 15,202,056 followers top Harris's 11,440,053. The scoreboard rewards more than raw streams, and this pairing is the clearest proof.
The chasing pack
Fourth and fifth are a dead heat on score: Hardwell and Alok both post 884, separated in rank rather than points. Their profiles could hardly be more different. Hardwell's strength skews toward YouTube, where his 1,650,000 subscribers lead the entire top eight. Alok, meanwhile, is a social-media phenomenon: 28,890,588 Instagram followers — the largest Instagram audience on this list, ahead of even Guetta — plus 15,100,000 on TikTok and 26,816,216 Spotify monthly listeners. The Brazilian act's rise underscores how commercial dance is no longer a purely European-American story.
Swedish House Mafia takes sixth with 878, carried by 27,345,458 Spotify monthly listeners and a notably strong Last.fm base of 2,696,705 — a signal of an audience that has been listening for a long time.
Rounding out the leaders, Steve Aoki and Afrojack are tied at 877. Aoki's reach is broad: 11,312,989 Instagram followers, 3,900,000 on TikTok, and 4,182,253 on SoundCloud. Afrojack counters with 27,489,644 Spotify monthly listeners — more than Garrix, Alok, or Swedish House Mafia — proof that a lower rank on the board doesn't mean a smaller streaming footprint.
What defines the sound
Three things stand out from this snapshot.
The Netherlands remains the engine room. Garrix, Hardwell, and Afrojack give the Dutch three of the top eight slots — no other country places more than one act.
Votes and scores track closely at the top. The top three all cleared 11,800 votes (Guetta 11,970, Garrix 11,910, Harris 11,820), suggesting the leaders aren't just algorithmically visible — they're actively supported by the voting audience. Alok's 11,790 votes nearly match that trio despite his fifth-place rank.
Platform strength is fragmenting. No single metric predicts rank. Guetta and Harris dominate Spotify; Alok owns Instagram and TikTok; Hardwell leads YouTube. Commercial dance in 2026 is a multi-front campaign, and the artists at the top are the ones winning on several fronts at once rather than dominating one.
With 88 acts on the board and only three points separating second from third, the commercial category is anything but settled. Guetta's 928 gives him breathing room for now — but the pack behind him is dense, decorated, and streaming in the tens of millions.
