Cameroon's Four: How CM's Electronic Scene Is Finding Its Voice on DJ Radar
By Theo Lindqvist·July 1, 2026

A compact but confident field
Cameroon currently places four DJs on the DJ Radar board, and the shape of that list tells you plenty about where the country's electronic scene is heading. One house artist sits at the top. Three electronica producers follow. That's the entire national picture right now — small, but far from quiet.
Eko sets the pace
Eko leads CM at rank 1 with a credit score of 570 and 2,314 votes, the highest tallies among his compatriots on both counts. He's also the board's outlier by genre: the lone House name in a field otherwise defined by electronica.
His platform footprint is lopsided in a telling way. Eko carries 803,000 YouTube subscribers — a genuinely large audience — against 2,145 Instagram followers, 143 on SoundCloud, and just 5 on Mixcloud. That's an artist whose reach lives almost entirely on video, and it hints at how Cameroonian electronic music is being discovered: through the feed most of the country already lives in.
Cabrel Nanjip and the electronica core
At rank 2, Cabrel Nanjip posts a credit score of 542 and 1,821 votes, the strongest numbers behind Eko. His distribution flips Eko's on its head — 179,739 Instagram followers against just 4 on SoundCloud. Where Eko owns video, Nanjip owns the grid, and that Instagram base is the largest single following of any CM artist on the board.
Both top names, in other words, are winning on mainstream social platforms rather than the traditional DJ-upload ecosystems. It's a useful reminder that in emerging scenes, the audience often arrives before the infrastructure does.
Sanzy Viany and Eric TaxMan
Sanzy Viany holds rank 3 with a credit score of 464 and 1,441 votes — and she's the only woman among Cameroon's ranked DJs, working in electronica. Her 3,246 Instagram followers and 35 on SoundCloud track with the modest, still-building profiles typical of the scene's next tier.
Eric TaxMan rounds out the four at rank 4, matching Sanzy's 464 credit score but with 1,150 votes and a lean 252 Instagram followers. The tie in credit score, split by vote count, shows how tightly the lower half of this field is bunched.
Reading the local flavour
Three of Cameroon's four ranked DJs — Nanjip, Sanzy Viany and Eric TaxMan — sit in electronica, making it the defining sound of the national board. Eko's house is the exception that proves the rule, and the fact that the exception sits at number one gives the scene a productive tension: a house standard-bearer up top, an electronica majority underneath.
What unites them is a distribution strategy built on mass-market platforms — YouTube for Eko, Instagram for Nanjip — rather than the DJ-native services where SoundCloud and Mixcloud numbers stay in single and double digits. For a four-artist field, that's a coherent identity, and a foundation the next names to break through will build on.
Cameroon isn't flooding the charts yet. But with a clear leader, a defined dominant genre, and real audiences already assembled, the CM scene has the ingredients that matter most.
