Big Room's Grip: The Eight DJs Leading DJ Radar's Commercial Board

The commercial tier is the most crowded room on DJ Radar: 92 DJs currently sit under the genre family. The eight at the top tell you almost everything about where the sound is right now — and how little separates the artists making it.

The top three

David Guetta holds rank 1 with a credit score of 928 and 11,970 votes, the highest vote total on the board. His platform footprint matches the position: 87,684,123 Spotify monthly listeners, 28,205,283 Spotify followers, and 5,185,692 Last.fm listeners. Guetta's main genre is listed as Dance / Pop, and that classification is the point — this is music built to live on radio and in a festival main-stage slot simultaneously.

Behind him, Martin Garrix (909) and Calvin Harris (905) are separated by four points. Garrix is the board's Big Room standard-bearer, carrying 15,202,056 Instagram followers and 11,910 votes. Harris, also filed as Dance / Pop, posts 80,769,216 monthly listeners and 194,696 Resident Advisor followers — the highest RA figure among the eight, a reminder that the commercial label doesn't cut an artist off from the club-facing side of the industry.

The vote spread across the top four is the real story: 11,970, 11,910, 11,820 and 11,790. That's a 180-vote range between rank 1 and rank 4.

The pack

From rank 4 down, the board compresses hard. Alok (885), Hardwell (884), Swedish House Mafia (878), Steve Aoki (877) and Afrojack (877) are covered by eight credit points. Aoki and Afrojack are tied outright on score, split only by vote count — 8,926 to 8,490.

Alok, the sole Brazilian entry in the group, brings the largest social base of the eight: 28,890,588 Instagram followers and 15,100,000 TikTok followers, alongside 26,816,216 Spotify monthly listeners. Afrojack sits close on streaming with 27,489,644 monthly listeners, and Swedish House Mafia at 27,345,458 — three artists effectively level on the metric, ranked apart by score and votes.

Hardwell's profile runs differently: 5,580,072 monthly listeners but 4,727,149 Instagram followers and a credit score of 884 that puts him a single point off rank 4. Score on this board is not a streaming leaderboard, and the Hardwell entry is the clearest proof.

What defines the sound

Six of the eight leaders — Garrix, Alok, Hardwell, Swedish House Mafia, Aoki and Afrojack — carry Big Room as their main genre. That is the commercial family's centre of gravity: long, telegraphed builds, a drop written to be recognised from the back of a field, and arrangements that treat the festival stage as the primary format rather than the club.

The two exceptions, Guetta and Harris, are classified as Dance / Pop, and they occupy ranks 1 and 3. The pattern is worth naming: Big Room supplies the volume at the top, but the two highest-scoring commercial artists are the ones whose records function as pop songs first.

Geography reinforces it. The Netherlands places three of the eight — Garrix, Hardwell and Afrojack — with France, the United Kingdom, Brazil, Sweden and the United States taking one apiece. Dutch Big Room remains the template the rest of the commercial board is measured against.

With eight points covering five artists, ranks 4 through 8 are the section of this board most likely to look different next cycle.
