Belgium on DJ Radar: Techno at the Summit, Breadth Below

Belgium has 313 DJs on the DJ Radar board, and its top eight cover most of the electronic spectrum. Techno holds the top. Big room and deep house sit directly beneath it. Drum & bass, house, electro house and melodic house & techno fill the rest. Six genre families in eight slots: that range is the story.

Techno owns the top two

Charlotte de Witte leads the country with a credit score of 992 and 85,330 votes. Her reach is broad: 6,428,539 Instagram followers, 1,800,000 on TikTok, 1,010,000 YouTube subscribers, 498,388 on SoundCloud and 1,784,407 Spotify monthly listeners. Her 60,037 Resident Advisor followers are the highest RA figure recorded in Belgium's top eight, and her festival count stands at 202.

Amelie Lens follows on 929, a clear 63 points behind. Yet Lens beats her compatriot on one measure: a festival count of 218 against de Witte's 202. Her RA following of 57,352 sits just 2,685 behind the leader's, and she adds 1,238,002 Spotify monthly listeners and 380,832 SoundCloud followers.

They are the only two Techno entries in the top eight, and they hold first and second.

Where the streams live

The acts at three and four reach their audiences very differently. Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, filed under Big Room, score 917 on 12,914 votes, with 13,876,010 Spotify monthly listeners, 3,712,312 Spotify followers and 839,412 Last.fm listeners.

Lost Frequencies, the top eight's Deep House entry at 910, posts the strongest listening numbers in the group: 21,071,535 Spotify monthly listeners and 1,216,420 Last.fm listeners. The two figures agree with each other, which makes this one of the most consistent profiles on the list.

Only 19 points separate second from fourth, from 929 down to 910. Below the leader, the board is much tighter than the gap at the top suggests.

The chasing pack

Netsky, on 866, is the only Drum & Bass artist in the top eight. His 675,904 Last.fm listeners rank third in the group, behind only Lost Frequencies and Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike. He also has 1,713,176 Spotify monthly listeners and 26,425 RA followers.

The names Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike also appear on their own at sixth and seventh, on 865 and 855, filed under House and Electro House. Their vote counts, 7,893 and 7,976, are both higher than Netsky's 7,293. Votes alone do not decide the order.

Coone closes the eight on 851, listed under Melodic House & Techno, with 1,808,013 Spotify monthly listeners and 264,388 Instagram followers.

From fifth to eighth, the spread is just 15 points. This is a real scrum, where small swings matter.

The Belgian flavour

What defines Belgium here is breadth. The techno pair post the highest Resident Advisor counts recorded in the top eight. The big room and deep house acts at three and four bring eight-figure Spotify audiences. One country, two very different routes up the table.

The ranking itself follows credit score, not streams, and on that measure techno leads. Charlotte de Witte sits 63 points clear, Amelie Lens holds second, and behind them a closely packed field covers nearly every corner of the dancefloor.
