Bass on DJ Radar: Skrillex Leads, But the UK Owns the Chasing Pack
By Imani Brooks·July 30, 2026

Bass is not one sound. On DJ Radar it's a family — dubstep, drum & bass, breakbeat, club-facing bass — and with 2,110 DJs currently on the board, it's one of the most crowded fields we track. The top eight tell you almost everything about where the low end lives in 2026.
The summit isn't close
Skrillex holds the number one spot with a credit score of 923, built on 11,460 votes — the largest vote haul in the bass top eight. Filed under Bass / Club, the American's reach backs up the ranking: 22,231,503 Spotify monthly listeners, 12,083,723 Instagram followers, and 6,675,563 on SoundCloud. No one else in this field is operating at that streaming scale. The gap to second place is 48 credit points, and in a table where positions three through five are separated by just two points, that's a canyon.
The UK's drum & bass bloc
Sub Focus takes second at 875, one of three drum & bass entries from the United Kingdom in the top eight. Chase & Status sit fifth at 859, and Andy C — arguably the scene's most institutional name on this list — rounds out the eight at 842. Add Fatboy Slim, the UK breakbeat entry ranked third at 861, and half of the bass leaderboard's top tier is British. Whatever else changes in bass music, the UK's grip on its breaks-and-jungle lineage hasn't loosened.
That middle of the table is genuinely tight. Fatboy Slim (861), ILLENIUM (860), and Chase & Status (859) are stacked within two points of each other — a podium position in bass right now can swing on a handful of votes.
Dubstep's three-front presence
Dubstep claims three of the eight slots, and they're geographically scattered: ILLENIUM from the United States at fourth (860), Canada's Zeds Dead at sixth (849), and Israel's Borgore at seventh (846). ILLENIUM's profile is the biggest of the three — 10,115,951 Spotify monthly listeners and 1,161,902 Instagram followers — and notably, ILLENIUM pulled 8,359 votes, more than anyone here except Skrillex. Borgore's 8,110 votes and Zeds Dead's 8,081 similarly outpace several artists ranked above them, a reminder that DJ Radar's credit score weighs more than raw ballot volume.
What the numbers say about the sound
Read across the table and a picture emerges. Bass in 2026 is a genre family with one global streaming giant at the top and a fiercely contested tier beneath it, where legacy UK drum & bass, arena-scale North American dubstep, and big-beat heritage all trade blows within a 33-point band (875 down to 842).
It's also a scene where club credibility and platform reach don't always move together. Chase & Status carry 68,838 Resident Advisor followers — more than anyone here except Skrillex's 89,527 — despite a smaller streaming footprint than ILLENIUM or Fatboy Slim. Andy C's 161,000 YouTube subscribers lead the drum & bass contingent on that platform even as his Spotify numbers trail the pack.
The takeaway: bass has no single center of gravity below the summit. Skrillex's lead looks secure for now, but with three artists locked within two points of each other and vote counts running hot further down the table, the rest of this leaderboard is anything but settled.
