Bangladesh's Electronic Underground Finds Its Voice on DJ Radar
By Imani Brooks·June 30, 2026

Bangladesh has long been an afterthought on the global electronic map. That's changing. DJ Radar's national board now counts nine Bangladeshi DJs, and the names at the top tell a story of a scene pulling in several directions at once — melodic, techno, bass, and the harder-to-pin-down corners of electronica.
The melodic frontrunner
KARNiVAL sits at number one with a credit score of 541, built on 2,143 votes — the deepest vote count of any BD act on the board. The Melodic House & Techno banner fits the moment: it's the sound carrying clubs worldwide, and KARNiVAL has the reach to match, with 41,271 Instagram followers and 9,750 subscribers on YouTube. On every metric that matters here, this is the country's standard-bearer.
Techno's standard and electronica's restlessness
Close behind, Tomal Nuhu Islam holds rank two with a 502 credit score and 1,562 votes, flying a straight-ahead Techno flag and pulling 19,000 Instagram followers. That's the kind of four-to-the-floor backbone every healthy scene needs.
Then the picture gets more interesting. Sanjoy (rank three, 499, 1,567 votes) and KK (rank five, 434, 1,098 votes) both work under the Electronica label — a sign that BD isn't simply importing club templates but bending them. Sanjoy's 4,871 SoundCloud followers point to a producer's audience, one that lives in tracks rather than headlines.
Bass goes global
The bass contingent gives Bangladesh its widest-traveling names. Jai Wolf lands at number four with a 488 credit score and 1,373 votes under a Dubstep banner — a reminder that BD's electronic story already has feet planted well beyond Dhaka. Tawkir Alif rounds out the bass camp at rank eight (374, 661 votes), keeping the heavier end of the spectrum represented.
House and the long game
Imtiaz Ahmed keeps the four-on-the-floor House tradition alive at number six (399 credit score, 1,118 votes), while Wasiur Rahman sits seventh on a 393 score — but with 1,967 votes, the second-highest tally on this entire board. That gap between rank and raw votes is worth watching: it suggests a grassroots base that the credit score hasn't fully caught up to yet. Like KARNiVAL, Rahman works in Melodic House & Techno, doubling down on the genre family that bookends BD's top tier.
What the board says
Read top to bottom, the BD board isn't dominated by a single sound. Two melodic artists frame it, techno and house hold the center, electronica supplies the wildcards, and dubstep carries the flag abroad. For a scene this young on the international stage, that spread is a strength — there's no monoculture to outgrow.
The scores still trail the established powerhouses, and the follower counts swing wildly from artist to artist. But the signal is unmistakable: Bangladesh now has names worth tracking, a frontrunner with real reach, and a vote base that, in cases like Wasiur Rahman's, runs deeper than the rankings yet show. The underground has found its voice. Now it's a question of how loud it gets.
