Austria on DJ Radar: Klangkarussell Leads, and Two Points Separate the Chasing Trio
By Devon Pierce·October 15, 2026

Austria counts 145 DJs on the DJ Radar board, and its top eight don't settle on a single national sound. Progressive house, minimal techno, nu-disco, drum & bass, tech house, dubstep and psy-trance all hold a place near the summit. If Austria has a local flavour, it is range.
Klangkarussell sets the pace
Klangkarussell holds No. 1 with a credit score of 874 and 8,140 votes, the top marks on both counts among the country's leading eight. The progressive house act's platform profile is strong across the board: 4,633,015 Spotify monthly listeners, 576,088 Last.fm listeners, 239,000 YouTube subscribers, 238,821 SoundCloud followers and 37,501 Resident Advisor followers.
The lead is clear-cut. At 874, Klangkarussell sits 31 points ahead of the next name. That is the widest gap between any two neighbouring spots in Austria's top eight.
Two points, three sounds
Directly behind is the country's most compelling contest. HVOB (843), Parov Stelar (842) and Mefjus (841) are separated by two points, and musically they could hardly be further apart.
HVOB flies the techno flag with minimal and deep tech, backed by 6,698 votes, 245,684 Spotify followers and 20,550 RA followers. Parov Stelar, working in nu-disco and indie dance, has the largest Spotify following in the group at 1,152,945, along with the top Last.fm count at 1,178,087 listeners and 567,000 YouTube subscribers.
Mefjus, the drum & bass artist of the three, drew 7,462 votes, more than either name ranked just above him. Parov Stelar also out-polled HVOB, 6,725 to 6,698, yet sits a point lower. On DJ Radar, vote count and credit score don't move in lockstep, and Austria's board shows it plainly.
Bass runs deep
If one strand defines Austria's upper tier, it is bass music. Three of the top eight belong to the bass family. Alongside Mefjus, Camo & Krooked reaches No. 6 on 828, with 761,252 Spotify monthly listeners, 139,093 Instagram followers and 397,953 Last.fm listeners. That score comes on 6,048 votes, the fewest in the top eight.
Ikkimel completes the trio at No. 8 with 816 points and 6,825 votes. Listed under dubstep, she has 2,617,765 Spotify monthly listeners, 394,914 Spotify followers, 106,000 YouTube subscribers and 706,000 TikTok followers.
Tech house and a psy-trance entry
Toby Romeo, No. 7 on 827, represents tech house, and his 7,692 votes are second only to Klangkarussell's. His profile includes 74,019 Spotify followers, 67,447 Instagram followers and 101,632 Last.fm listeners.
Psy-trance arrives at No. 5 through Harris & Ford: 830 points, 6,873 votes, 2,997,978 Spotify monthly listeners and 329,000 YouTube subscribers.
The shape of the board
Austria's top tier has a clear structure: one leader out front, then a tight pack. From No. 2 to No. 8, just 27 points separate HVOB's 843 from Ikkimel's 816. Three acts lean house, three lean bass, and techno and psy-trance each take a seat.
Fans looking for one Austrian sound won't find it here. Fans looking for depth in almost any direction will.
