Armin van Buuren Holds World No. 1 by 369 Votes
By Mara QuinnยทOctober 15, 2026
Three DJs from three genre families, with just 727 votes between first and third. That's DJ Radar's worldwide Top 3 right now, and it says more about how fans vote than any streaming dashboard could.
A photo finish at the summit
Armin van Buuren holds the top spot with 86,057 fan votes. David Guetta sits on 85,688, only 369 votes behind. Charlotte de Witte follows on 85,330, a further 358 back. Each of them has more than 85,000 votes, so the full spread from first to third is under one percent.
The credit scores tell the same story: 996, 995 and 992. Four points cover the entire podium. No one up here is coasting, and no position is safe.
Votes are not streams
If reach alone decided this ranking, it would read differently. Guetta posts 82,926,860 Spotify monthly listeners and 28,648,823 followers, plus 27,900,000 YouTube subscribers and 12,437,515 on Instagram. Of the three, he leads on almost every platform tracked here, from TikTok (7,000,000) and SoundCloud (2,585,916) to Last.fm (5,185,692) and Resident Advisor (152,250).
Armin's footprint is large too, just on a different scale: 15,167,072 monthly listeners, 4,790,575 Spotify followers, 6,190,000 YouTube subscribers and 5,025,952 on Instagram. Still, when fans actually cast ballots, trance edged out dance-pop.
The simplest reading is that a stream measures exposure and a vote measures intent. Guetta's records reach a huge audience. On this evidence, Armin's supporters show up when it counts.
Techno makes its case
Charlotte de Witte's position makes that point even clearer. She has 1,788,852 Spotify monthly listeners, 1,462,844 followers and 194,193 Last.fm listeners, all well below the two men above her. Even so, she finishes just 358 votes off second place and 727 off the top.
Her profile carries a festival count of 202, and her Resident Advisor following of 60,037 sits just above Armin's 58,187. She is the only woman in this Top 3 and the only techno artist in it.
Her placement suggests that a fan vote captures something streaming totals miss. Her listener numbers are smaller on paper, but her voters kept pace with the two names above her almost vote for vote.
Three lanes, one podium
Step back and the board is unusually varied. The Netherlands, France and Belgium each take a spot. Trance, commercial dance-pop and techno each claim a place. No single scene owns the top of the world rankings right now.
That balance is also what makes the order so fragile. With 369 votes between first and second and 358 between second and third, this countdown is still a live contest.
For now, the summit belongs to Armin van Buuren, by the narrowest of margins and against the grain of the streaming numbers.
