Albania on DJ Radar: Solo's Techno Leads a Board Where No Two DJs Share a Genre

Albania on DJ Radar: Solo's Techno Leads a Board Where No Two DJs Share a Genre

Albania has five DJs on the DJ Radar board right now, and the most interesting thing about the list isn't a score. It's the range. Techno, drum & bass, dance/pop, electronica, trance: five names, five main genres, and each DJ in a different genre family. That's a wide spread for a board this size.

Solo sets the pace

Solo leads the country with a credit score of 795 from 6,419 votes, the highest on both counts. The main genre is techno, and the specialist numbers fit the top spot: 935 followers on Resident Advisor and 72,410 Last.fm listeners.

The vote count is the clearest measure of fan backing on this board, and Solo's lead is built on it.

Stealth: the bass challenger

Stealth, the board's drum & bass DJ, sits second with 735 points and 6,006 votes. That's 60 points and 413 votes behind Solo. It's a clear gap, but these two are well ahead of everyone else: they're the only DJs on Albania's board above 6,000 votes.

There's a twist on two platforms. Stealth's 82,942 Last.fm listeners and 1,195 RA followers are both the highest in the country's top five. The ranking puts Solo first, but those figures show that no single platform decides the order.

Alban Chela and the commercial lane

The board's biggest drop comes next. 202 points separate Stealth from third-placed Alban Chela, who scores 533 from 1,885 votes.

Chela is the commercial voice here, working dance/pop, and his following leans social: 92,587 Instagram followers, plus 46,941 Last.fm listeners and 1,243 on SoundCloud. The top two come from club-specialist genres, so Chela fills the crossover lane. His Last.fm count shows that his audience listens to the music as well as following him on social media.

The deeper cuts

Boxsta holds fourth with 370 points and 796 votes. As the electronica entry, Boxsta is the one name filed under the broader "other" genre family, which makes this the board's least predictable lane. Boxsta's profile shows 330 SoundCloud followers and 606 Last.fm listeners.

Kunda, fifth on 321 points and 704 votes, carries the trance flag, with 51 RA followers and 278 Last.fm listeners.

Only 49 points and 92 votes separate Boxsta and Kunda. That's the smallest gap anywhere in Albania's top five, so the fight for fourth is the one to watch.

What the board tells us

Albania's DJ Radar board doesn't revolve around one sound. Techno and drum & bass sit at the top, each with more than 6,000 votes. Below them, dance/pop, electronica and trance round out a board where every DJ has their own lane.

That's the appeal for fans. There's no house style to wade through, just five DJs taking five different directions. Anyone who stops at the number one is missing most of what this scene offers.
